thats the band with members of city of caterpillar right?

C.O.A. 12-28-2009 09:38 PM

oops wrong thread lol

Against Miik! 12-28-2009 09:52 PM

I was reading the new Rolling Stone thats basically about the '00s, and they had a little blurb about some genres in the decade that had the least staying power. Crunk was one, screamo was another, and reggaeton was the third.

It made me lol because I'm pretty sure they cited Hawthorne Heights as a screamo band, and also Thrice, which made me lol for another reason because Thrice is still ****ing awesome.

Txus 12-28-2009 09:55 PM

Well, you are reading Rolling Stone dude.

Nepenthe 12-28-2009 09:59 PM

the final authority on music

Against Miik! 12-28-2009 10:01 PM

I have a free subscription, so why the hell not.

I am just constantly baffled by how these so called top music publications can be so ignorant about the actual state of music.

witchxrapist 12-28-2009 10:14 PM

Who knows, they called Slipknot death metal iirc.

DBlitz 12-28-2009 10:21 PM

obviously the only people who have authority on music are the people who post in music forums like these

Against Miik! 12-28-2009 10:22 PM

Wow holy ****... just checked them out... good ****.

negrodamus 12-28-2009 11:54 PM

witchxrapist 12-28-2009 11:56 PM

I am still trying to get my head around that kid calling them pretentious and asserting that they aren't actually emo.
I am still trying to get my head around that kid calling them pretentious and asserting that they aren't actually emo.
They are pretty post rock and hardcore influences, but it's still emo.

witchxrapist 12-29-2009 12:07 AM
Well ya, but damn.
Boom. I know it looks like I listen to a **** ton of music, like more than is socially acceptable, but that has everything to do with my iTunes being completely f worded up.

witchxrapist 12-29-2009 03:28 AM

Likely story.

witchxrapist 12-29-2009 04:05 AM

I showed my one friend Adorno, because he sent me an IM mocking me for listening to foreign skramz all the time.

Andrew: PORTUGESE SCREAMO

And now he's like

Andrew: SAY N SPARKS
Andrew: FUPAWAR
Andrew: i cant understand this ****ing ******

witchxrapist 12-29-2009 04:07 AM
lolfail.
Not only was I telling you about Chalk Talk as a suggestion, not as a bragging right, you take too much offense and have too much attachment about what bands you listen to and have no interaction with whatsoever beyond some fandom, illlegally downloading their music, maybe possibly buying some **** on iTunes or a vinyl.

OH WOW, IF TWO BANDS ARE FROM THE SAME COUNTRY, THEY SHOULD AUTOMATICALLY BE INSPIRED FROM EACH OTHER IF ONE IS AROUND LONGER.
Which is why Pianos Become The Teeth is so inspired by Silverstein.

Cool stuff, bruddah.
 look at this freaking wiener.

witchxrapist 01-02-2010 05:44 PM
