Go to radioshack or whatever, pick up a 1/4" to 1/8" converter, and you're all set.
I think i'll go pick one up tommorow. Never knew it would be so easy. Bah. Any ways, i'm off to my girlfriends house. 'night:wave: |
That's helpful, but i'm also missing devices for actually recording my bass.
Usb/1/4" jack or even a mic.
Ah. Well, I'll upload AA for you anyway, since it's relatively small. |
Yeah, I have been able to read music for something like 7-10 years. When I went into my music theory classes back in high school, these kids weren't able to read and I was just sitting there being fluent like I was born with it. It was weird, and a majority of the kids in the class didn't understand anything in the first place, so it was a bit annoying having to take so long to go through the process of everything. I already knew most of the material in the class as it was, but it was a nice review and a good thing to learn little things I had skipped over during the process of me memorising everything.
Yeah. Even the best musicians in my school's bands don't know theory that well. I am really fortunate in the fact that my mom is a musician, so she started me on piano early. More than that though it was that she was always like playing guitar around me, so I developed a real passion for music. |
You don't have a USB port or a mic jack?
Wow... |
I was a trombone player, and now I'm all about the didjeridoo. I'm also slowly building a kora.

You lucky bastards.
I feel like I got such a late start on music and that I'll never be truly competent in the eyes of the music community. |
I need to get my hands on Cubase again.
It's the only relatively easy to get program that runs Guitar Rig 2. |
im currently playing what i call the danitron, its an old phone skeleton that i rigged a battery to. it makes sounds like a phone but i hook it up to my BP200 and have all kinds of fun.
|
Ha, I started early, and I feel that.
@ Ben |
Does anybody use YIM jam?
|
You lucky bastards.
Ha, I started early, and I feel that.
@ Ben
Let's move in together and start a band that excels on incompetency. For an ironic twist, we'll call ourselves Good. |

Brilliant, sheer brilliance. We could also be The Mediocre Experience. |
You lucky bastards.

We'll have to be careful though, we don't want it to be an artistic statement, we just want to be bad.
|
Brilliant, sheer brilliance. We could also be The Mediocre Experience.
Yes. I totally agree. On an unrelated note, we should really do a collab sometime. |
We'll have to be careful though, we don't want it to be an artistic statement, we just want to be bad.
 exsactly. so like, as soon as everyone thinks they have it figured out, we'll make a good song to piss all of them off.:p |
I'm interested, we'll talk.

Word. As soon as I finish my truck-load of course work, I'll have lots of time. |

Yeah, my mum started me out when I was around seven. I didn't appreciate music at the time, so I ended up dropping out of piano. I dabbled on my grandparents guitar, but it wasn't until fifth grade when they showed me how to play trumpet and guitar. I hated both, though, and, when I started middle school, I took up clarinet for three years. From there, I took up bass in the eighth grade, and, when I went to high school, I vowed not to join any school band. I ended up joining my school's jazz band, but not for bass. I ended up playing tenor saxophone, and then the instructor required that saxophonists played flute as well, so I had to take that up as well. Since then, I have started learning some guitar, and I know how to play drums as well, and I have been meaning to start back up with piano. Neither of my parents play anymore, but my dad played trumpet when he was in high school, and my mum played violin for five years when she was younger. My parents are completely supportive of me in every way possible when it comes to playing music. All the band and choir kids at my second high school, though, don't know theory at all. That is why most of them took the theory classes, but most of them were just utterly confused when the material was presented to them. At my first high school, it was an art school, and everyone who played in the jazz band was pretty much top notch, so they all knew what they were talking about. |

It's a date. I'm generally free, so it shouldn't be a problem. |
It is never too late to start. I didn't even listen to music until five years ago.
Your more than competent man.
Heh, thanks Steve. I'm learning my theory now and I'd really like to go for a Bachelor of Music degree after I finish my BA. Whether it happens, I don't know... but I'd like to try. |
Go to McGill for it!
|

Sweeeeeet. |
Go to McGill for it!
Why McGill? Do they take electric bass? |
I was just playing my guitar a couple hours ago, and it was creeping me out. I had chops.....Then I played some chords, and they went away.
|
Why McGill?
Do they take electric bass?
I think they do.... And, because I'm going there. |
I think they do....
