great minds think alike :thumb:

and for the record, EB strings rock my socks, prosteels and nickelwounds whoop arse as well

Jody LeCompte 07-15-2006 08:38 PM

Sonic: Somewhere around $6500 more than what Ive got

Jody LeCompte 07-15-2006 08:39 PM

I used rotosounds on my five string and loved them in everyway.

I can never find rotosounds for a sixer though. Thats one more reason I should go back down to 5;

funkyhoney 07-15-2006 08:41 PM

ive got a set of d'addarrio nickelwounds for my six, lucky they were free

Ting 07-15-2006 08:41 PM

WAH! Howd you get free strings? Stock or somthing?

Jody LeCompte 07-15-2006 08:42 PM

I need some new martins for my acoustic as well...

I wish my pay was more glamorous so I could get a good electric guitar and an upright. Who wants to buy my body?

funkyhoney 07-15-2006 08:46 PM
WAH! Howd you get free strings? Stock or somthing?
because it was used and they couldn't give me a discount as it was already reduced i got ****loads of free stuff ($100 strings, $80 stand, $30 strap etc.)

Jody LeCompte 07-15-2006 08:47 PM

A NEW STRAP!

Thats the first thing Im buying when I get paid Wednesday

Thonk 07-15-2006 08:48 PM

I need a new one also.

This crap one from my first bass sucks. I guess i'll just get one tomorrow.

funkyhoney 07-15-2006 08:49 PM

i have more straps than i have basses

Jody LeCompte 07-15-2006 08:50 PM

My first strap finally broke(on stage no doubt :upset:) a few weeks ago so Ive been using this cheap earnie ball until I could get some cash.

Jody LeCompte 07-15-2006 08:51 PM

OH THATS RIGHT!

I have steady income, I can put instruments on layaway!

I'm still getting used to this job thing

funkyhoney 07-15-2006 08:54 PM

mmm, lay by is good, but i rely on it too much, i never have any money as it always goto my bills of overpriced **** i buy

Jody LeCompte 07-15-2006 08:55 PM

Well, I HATE buying off the internet, and evetytime I pick something out at a store Iits sold before I get the money.

funkyhoney 07-15-2006 08:59 PM

yeah, i dont buy off the net, lay by is cool.. whats even better is interest free terms, because you get it then, and pay it off. not the other way around, but if you take to long 40% interest ****s you over

Jody LeCompte 07-15-2006 09:01 PM

My music store gives you 3 months to pay gear off and if you dont they take a certain ammount to make up for that item not being on the shelf and thats teh end of it

Ting 07-15-2006 09:01 PM

Alrite guys i'm off to sleep. I'm not gunna be on for 2 or so weeks cause i'm heading down to Ottawa to visit my sister. I'm probobly just gunna spend all my time at music stores <.< >.>. Whatever, 'night guys.

da_s_man13 07-15-2006 09:04 PM

Understatement of the year Jody

Criss Frantic 07-15-2006 09:08 PM

3,2,1, i'm backin the room.

Quality drumkits that dont fall apart after 2 months are SOOOOOOOOO expensive.

Jody LeCompte 07-15-2006 09:08 PM

It's my bass teachers fault.

He pounded it into my head for years if I didnt play al sorts of crazy instruments Id never work in the music industry.

I'm used to acoustic strings that last 2 months and bass strings that last 3-4.

My guitarist has to change the strings on his mandolin every 2 weeks, its obsurd.

da_s_man13 07-15-2006 09:10 PM

Just use books. A drummer at my old school practiced on book for a good 2 years before he got a kit. He used the school's one to jam with of course. Great drummer too.

Criss Frantic 07-15-2006 09:12 PM

I if he was a jazz drummer and they were music books, i guess you could say he was brushing up on his theory!

Ahahahaha, come on, that was good!

Thonk 07-15-2006 09:14 PM

I'm off guys.

Hopefully Knights of the Old Republic II is done with everything when I wake up...

Jody LeCompte 07-15-2006 09:14 PM

The thing about me is. I cant hear another instrument and get inspired on my own. Buckethead for instance, has been sending alot of mxers to their bass lately. I cant listen to another instrument being played well and get phyched up about playing bass, I want to play said instrument too.

Sort of like when while my ukelele gently weeps got real popular on MX for a while. Everyone else was like "I'm gonna get a friend to play uke on one of my songs." But I went out and bought a uke and learned to play so I could write a song...

Zing!

Jody LeCompte 07-15-2006 09:19 PM

I've seen some INCREDIBLE brush-work in my stays in the drum forum..

Free-form brushing is cool. One drum and a steady sound thats acutally still perfectly rhthymic. Its chilling.

funkyhoney 07-15-2006 09:28 PM

i used to play drums... anyway, im trying to fingure out a way t get my computer out of my room but theres jsut no ****ing room

Jody LeCompte 07-15-2006 09:32 PM

I figure the money Im making at work(about $150 a week) I can get two guitars and a new bass by christmas.

Pinhead13 07-15-2006 09:35 PM

I DONT WANT EXPENSIVE GEAR! :(

-breaks down and cries-

EDIT: Seriously though, when my $75 dollar acoustic gets chipped I want to cry for its pain, what am I going to do with a 1200 dollar bass!

Pinhead13 07-15-2006 09:41 PM
