What's your preference? Pre or Post Black Album? Personally I like both eras.

I said this in a one of my last posts, but never got any response...Dream Theatre does a cover of Master of Puppets. I don't think it's anywhere near as good as the original (Dream Theatre is missing one guitar though), but could anyone tell me where it's from?

If I'm not mistaken, DT released a live album (bootleg?) that was them playing all of Master of Puppets (the entire album) live.

There's a video of some of it. I found it in the guitar forums a while back (do a search for Petrucci and Master of Puppets)

Its pretty good except the singing - LaBrie normally has a good voice, but not there.

Mine's a video of Dream Theatre in concert, a friend downloaded it off of Kazaa. I'd expect that someone probably taped one of their Number of the Beast concerts or something (I'm not too familiar with Dream Theatre).

I love checking out Metallica covers cause some are really good, some are awful and some are just plain odd...

really? i really wanna get live **** i downloaded an ajfa medley from some website and it began with eye of the beholder, then a little bit of the frayed ends of sanity, then the middle part of blackened, then like 3 mins of ajfa(2 verses i think), then back to blackened and that was it i think

Has anyone else been to this site and downloaded any shows? My Favorite show was the first one in Calgary. Its great to hear Dyers Eve live, too bad James can't remember the words and Lars can't play the double bass the same. has anyone heard the original intro for blackened? i downloaded off a website and it's very cool, i hear the other intro is just the original backwards, i wonder why they did that

sigh, ive seen metallica once. During the second or third leg of the long *** black tour(92 i think). It was the same stage setup as binge and purge. I got right up to the ****ing front thanks to a friend of mines cousin who was like 8 foot 500 pounds. they opened with sandman, then creeping death (as par for the course) They played the 'justice medley', and blackened, and one, master, battery, sanitarium, fade to black, seek and destroy, god im having trouble remembering, a bunch of stuff from the black album, the bass solo was based on my friend of misery, i think they did the damage/am I evil medley (like cliff em all) god i know they played tons more plus 2 f*cking encores. kick *** show, and they all still had long hair except for jason, who had just cut his off. I'll probably never see them again, so it was cool i got to before its too late. the only songs i wanted to see they didnt play. (orion, i kinda figured, and dyers eve)

Meh, I have a pretty extensive knowledge of their music (considering I don't own any albums that is). And I hope to get some soon. But it's like I'm torn between my two loves: Maiden and Metallica.

its not like its a 'demo' version of the original, thats just what they played for the intro, someone just took the beginning of blackened and put it in their wave editor and reversed the wave file. it is cool to hear though :thumb:

Yeah, you figured out the concept of reversing.

I did that years ago on ACID or something (reversed blackened so that it would play normally)
