emo is based out of hardcore music which is based out punk music so it makes perfect sense for it to be a sub-forum of the punk forum.

emo stands for emotional hardcore, it is on the same basis as punk, if you do not believe me, look at the lyrics and ethics of an emotional hardcore band, then tell me they are not punk.
