Don't workshop sell inks anymore? Man, I think they have some new washes in their paints line which are good. They look a bit chalky for my liking. But the inks were really shiny. Its all about the application - you can just use watered down paints if it looks good :)

oh, and the girl who plays uhura is totally bangable too
Anyone here use Ableton Live?
A trial of it came with my Fast Track Pro. It looks to be a decent user interface, but it was a trail/demo, and it didn't look like anything spectacular. I'm excited to try out some of the open source linux-based recording programs. They sound half-way decent. |

Sup, P?

Not much dawg, listening to Boston, going over some stuff I'm going to need to know for school.

RZA = t3h sh*t. What's up with his project with Shavo from SOAD?
I'm doing the same, with a bit of net surfing in between. I'm trying to determine what else I'll need for my computer before I order it. So far, I will have picked up a good quad-core processor, decent motherboard, and 8GB of RAM for about $260. Can't really afford it right now, but that's what credit cards are for. Plus, after this week, I'll be able to work all the overtime I want without school restrictions, so I'll likely have it paid off and then some before the end of the month. |

I hear you're good for sequencing pants and denim vests! Fag!

I don't really mess around with that, to be honest. You might try to find a used copy of it for cheap or be illegal (which I would never condone in any way, shape, or form) and get it for free. Anybody got a copy of Rosetta Stone's German 1 program? I'd like to start learning another language (even though I've not mastered English or Spanish...but I know enough to get by) and I figured German would be a great place to start as I know enough people that speak German that could help me along. |
Ich habbe eine grosse wurst.
I took two years of honors. I remember around 3% of it. |
Hallo. Ich bin Joe.
I can ask "how are you?" formally, but I'll be damned if I spell it correctly at all. Vie heisen zi? /german fail |
So I bought a #1 Echo a couple days ago, but think i'm going to sell it to get a dd-20.

What version have you got? I've been using v3, but got v4 on the weekend. If you get Ableton, which I actually have a copy of, you can still rewire Reason to Ableton and use the sounds you like. So going to Ableton you're not really losing anything, besides the time it takes to get comfortable with it. Yay my loop entry has been composed...Now to record it.. |
Joelbassman i have posted for you in my thread now you shall go and read it
|
Lol I have read it, I'm getting around to listening to the remix and posting about it very soon.

My issue with Reason is that 95% of the drum samples are pretty useless to me, and those I do use aren't really spectacular. The rest of the VST's are decent but again, I wouldn't mind something better. Maybe I just need to hook myself up with a bunch of Re-Fills. |
What are you doing to the drums in the mixing stage? Compressors and often limiters and eqs can work wonders on them. I'm guessing they come un-eq'd/compressed so people can do that themselves.
I find the interface a little gayer than Logic. The piano scroll is fine, but the arrangement window in v3 is terrible. Haven't tried v4 yet, will do tonight though. You know Cubase can sequence right? The vst's are pretty horrible though. |

Usually I steal drum sounds from bands or even mic up my drummer's kit and record a couple sounds - replacing the drum sounds with a real recorded kit, in essence. |

Another issue with Reason is that notes in sequence don't carry over beats, so my drums end up sounding choppy. I suppose I could smooth this to a point with reverb, but it's not really ideal.

That would annoy the hell out of me. Fruity Loops ftw |
