2 days back from spring break and I am already exhausted :( I have to work 33 hours this week, but at least I got most of my tests out of the way.

Is it worth it to get a job this summer to make some extra money for college or should I just enjoy the time off?

Not very rich at all.

Angmar 03-18-2008 11:33 PM

Getting a part time job would be a good idea, if you work less hours you could still have a good deal of free time and make a little money to spend in college or just for fun.

Kingofdudes 03-18-2008 11:33 PM

I would work, but then again I'm poor as hell.
PRR are pretty good
Yah. I think I'm going to try that. I just want some spending money, but I also want to be able to enjoy some time off.

Iluvatar 03-18-2008 11:38 PM

Part time jobs are pretty basic if you're only workint 20-25 hours a week.

especially if your parents are still gonna pay for gas and such for you during the summer.

illpressureurhinges1 03-18-2008 11:39 PM

Yah. I'm going to try to work somewhere. And I probably won't be taking a car to college so that'll help.

jrowa001 03-18-2008 11:55 PM

i tried to have a part time job in '06 while i was in school and i just couldnt do it. they had me working so many hours and i was physically too tired to even study. now that i am a tutor and i am well respected in my city, i only have to work maybe 6 or 7 hours a week which gives me lots of time to study. if you can even just get a job as a tutor for a school, it is a really easy relaxing job. even better is if you become a private tutor like i am, because you can set your own price. i bumped up my tutoring to $35 an hour, when most schools only pay a maximum of $15

I am an assistant in the library several hours Mon-Thu on school days

It is really nice

Before that I had a gay part-time job where my supervisor was a screaming asshole and former alcoholic. (Ex-alcoholics don't fully recover their judgment and continue to have poor impulse control ... on top of that they become self-righteous. As you might have guessed, I have little tolerance for such people.)

Pass. I spend a lot of free time studying computer science and math these days because most people are afraid of these subjects and it's harder to fire or piss all over someone with a firm command of them. My job leaves me a lot of time for that.

I actually just started tutoring, working for my school. I haven't done much but it's been fun. Your words of wisdom are interesting to note, though, for future reference.
