I was just saying I don't think it's him, I wasn't trying to refute your point or anything.
thats fair, and you let me know something that I didn't, so thank you.
Most band's songs will sound the same when your knowledge of them is cursory and minimal. It's unlikely that an album will be full of songs of a vastly different styles. If you grow tired of it, I guess that's fair.
Partially agree. But, bands like Metallica (in the 80's) had every song on their album have a different feel and purpose to the album, and the same with with Opeth on albums like BWP. I feel like every song was written to fill a role for that album. Protest the Hero doesn't have that for me.
And it's hard to sing Arif's lyrics, trust me. Give Rody a lot more credit than you're giving him. He's basically given lyrics he didn't write and he has to create coherent vocal arrangements atop music he didnt have the hugest hand in composing.
What I imagine Rody said early last winter: "Arif, what the hell is a Khanate? And how do you even pronounce this? Floo-dias? Christ, this isn't going to be fun."
PTH is the band R&M types like to jerk off and H/E people hate. I personally dislike them a lot.

Edit: I just remembered why: BTBAM, The Fall of Troy, and Glassjaw are all better. Maybe even Dragonforce...maybe.
I agree completely.

interviewer02 05-30-2008 09:23 AM

Between the Buried in Me are in no way better than Protest the Hero. Wait, their drummer is better. Besides that, PTH>BTBAM

Aaron 05-31-2008 02:10 AM

O rly? Cause you just pointed out one way that they're better and...

1 way =/= no way.

Shred Danson 05-31-2008 02:32 AM

Listening to Sequoia Throne right now

Did you somehow forget to read the second half of my post, where I corrected myself?

my 2 cents....while luke is more technical than paul....paul is more creative cause he focuses on solos moreso than luke does cause he just shreds and taps the living hell out of his guitar, but then again pth does really focus on soloing so im just pointin out meh thoughts

Pete 06-02-2008 12:11 PM

Dimmu Burger 06-02-2008 12:11 PM

BTBAM should get Rody to sing for them.

Pete 06-02-2008 12:17 PM

more like

pth should get tommy to write songs for them

dragonforce should get luke to play for them

manowar should get dragonforce's logo

and staind should get the title as the worlds loudest band

Dimmu Burger 06-02-2008 12:24 PM
and staind should get the title as the worlds horriblest band
2muchket! 06-03-2008 04:16 PM

I like pth more than btbam

But still btbam are good

Xplisit 06-03-2008 04:21 PM

Good news if you're in Southern Ontario

Protest are playing at The Dungeon on June 13th. Woo.

Shattered_Future 06-11-2008 06:56 AM

And this helps me how?

I'm still debating whether to go to Warped or not for them. I don't really know if there's any other bands I'd want to go see at Warped.

New Protest the Blog and Protest the Video:

Title: Win a Rape by cheese.
Okay, there's no rape contest... just for interest sake though, who would be interested in that? hink.

First things first, we're playing a last minute show at the dungeon on friday, it shall be our final show there as it is closing it's doors. I don't know the reason, but I will find out. So calling all ancient friends, lets remember what it was like to get drunk out of water bottles in a parking lot, get sweaty as **** in a cramped little place, and probably end up with a black eye and a sore spatula.

Also, Chris and I got drunk last night and decided that on warped tour we're going to get drunk every tuesday ( and every other day of the week)... but tuesdays we plan to film it. We're going to try and interview people from different bands and ****... and by interview them I mean get to drunk to even hear what the **** they're talking about and inevitably end up wrestling shirtless.

This is our teaser to the show... it was recorded and edited drunk in around 15 minutes... and we're quite proud of it.

Heterosexual life mates Rody and Chris Wynne are going to do a Youtube interview show together, this should be interesting.

stuff like this really makes me worry about the frontman's future...

Rhody is my favorite vocalist right now. Great range too.

I guess our McDonalds thread didn't go to well.

Sadly no, but FFDP will get what they deserve eventually, it just wont be our doing.

Tyler 06-14-2008 12:43 AM

Saw 'em play the Dungeon for the last time ever tonight. Beyond that, probably the last time they'll ever play a small bar. Rody sounded outstanding, and who cares if he made a stupid video with Chris, he's probably bored as **** and trying to spend time with his buddy before Warped (they leave tuesday).

Set was great. They even played an encore, which in around 40 shows I've only seen them do a handful of times. Would've killed for something old school but whatever.
