Catchthe22 07-14-2006 08:38 AM

I guess that makes sense. It would explain the chorus after "so I took her home so quietly"

Twin Human Highway Flares 07-14-2006 09:25 AM

I always thought "I took her home so quietly" was kind of odd, but if he's just taking the print home, I think he would want to be quiet sneaky about it, which makes sense.

I don't know if any of you have seen this but check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5LFD8i_Dh0&search=streetlight%20manifesto
It's a short clip of Streetlight playing what in my ears sounds like a new song. At least I don't know who else should have made it. Anyways, I think it sounds awesome. My guess of a name would be "Mercy Me" or "Ain't no turning back".

I really can't wait for a new album. It's without doubt the most exciting I have ever been for an album to be released.

Ghostfire3 07-30-2006 02:22 PM

I have to miss Streetlight when they come to Chicago because I'm going to visit my friend in Florida. :( But I'm seeing Big D & The Kids Table, Voodoo Glowskulls and Westbound Train while I'm there. Does that make up for it?

Henrik 07-30-2006 02:32 PM

No it does not... Big D rule though.

Ghostfire3 07-30-2006 04:37 PM

Yeah, but the other bands at the Streetlight show will be Reel Big Fish (who I don't like) and MXPX (who I really don't like).

The Fonz 07-30-2006 09:13 PM

Jessizzle 07-31-2006 08:10 AM

To see catch 22 tomorrow, or not.
It will be a good show, since its catch 22, Voodoo Glow Skulls and the flatliners. But 20ish$ worth... mhm. i duno.

_JR 07-31-2006 08:42 AM

anyone going to the streetlight, RBF, MXPX show in milwaukee on the 8th?

Liebensaft 07-31-2006 12:18 PM

That same show was here a few days ago, except with Big D and Westbound Train instead of the Flatliners.

It's the same exact show I saw like 3 months ago, and at the same venue too.

Black Ink 07-31-2006 12:56 PM

Streetlight was great when I saw them two weeks back. I wish they had more time to play though. I'd rather here them then MxPx. Reel Big Fish was really good as always as well.

Kithkin 08-02-2006 12:43 AM

I think everyone would rather hear them than mxpx, but I guess this tour will expose them to a different audience.

ert90 08-03-2006 12:35 PM

I have a feeling they'll be doing a headlining tour after their next release though.

Jessizzle 08-04-2006 08:51 AM

catch 22 is so good live!!! man i was surprised. Their horns are very good, but they dont show that in recordings, My favourite song of the night was Point the Blame. and to be honest, i love the new album, its even better live. they also played some Keasby nights stuff, GOOD

ert90 08-04-2006 11:00 AM

That would feel so strange seeing Catch playing stuff of Keasbey. It just doesn't seem right. I had a chance to catch them here in March but decided not to go.

Twin Human Highway Flares 08-04-2006 07:52 PM

So I just got it into my head that I wanted to hear Gimp's Supernothing, so does anyone know where one can acquire Smilies for Macavity?

Henrik 08-05-2006 06:55 AM

They had it free to download on skachilles, but I think it got down when the site closed for a while... It never got back up I think.
The version is much slower and only contains Guitar and violin. Also has some extra lyrics at the end... A fun listen but in my opinion not as good as the Catch 22 version.

Jessizzle 08-05-2006 08:17 AM

I have it somewhere on my computer. I just dont know where.

Henrik 08-05-2006 04:15 PM

Gimp is actually suprisingly good.

Twin Human Highway Flares 08-05-2006 07:54 PM

Which is why I want to find Smiles for Macavity.

Henrik 08-06-2006 01:03 PM

I see... I guess I could upload it to you. But I am not allowed to post the link on here.

Twin Human Highway Flares 08-06-2006 03:23 PM

Email the link to me? Idk.

FauxApathy 08-06-2006 10:48 PM

I'm going to a streetligh concert on the eighth.

Line up is Reel Big Fish, mxpx, transition, whole wheat bread and Streetlight, and it starts at 6:30

Problem is, I have to leave at 9:30!
Do you think I'll see them?

Henrik 08-07-2006 05:22 AM

You probably will, they don't headline that tour.

me likes punk 08-07-2006 08:28 AM

I just saw that show the other day, and Streetlight went on second. Transition wasn't there though so it might be different.

FauxApathy 08-09-2006 07:20 PM

I saw them, and they were amazing set was:

1. That'll Be The Day
2. Didn't recognize it. Either new or a cover.
3. Point/Counterpoint -Keasby Nights-Point/Counterpoint
4. New Song. Was very good. I don't remember much other than the line "Would You Be Impressed?"
5. Failing, Flailing
6. A Moment Of Violence
7. Here's To Life

They didn't play an encore, but Thomas said the new record would be out in a few months. Don't know if we can trust him, but that sounds good.

AIRIC 08-09-2006 09:30 PM

Hopefully it'll be just a few months.

_JR 08-10-2006 08:47 AM

i saw the same show as you in milwaukee^^

it was amazing. i somehow got pushed 3 rows in front or tomas. crazy.
what he said i think was:
"this song's off our new album which you can pick up at the merch stand now........just kidding it'll be about 3 months"

something like that. i'm hopeful

i was talking to their drummer and he said something about their record label victory records and how they release albums in bunches. the next batch comes out around october and then the next is january. so january is a possibility, but i'll believe it when i see it.

as_seen_on_tv 08-10-2006 04:00 PM

FauxApathy,I wish I would've gotten the same set.Here was what I got:

1.That'll Be The Day
2.New Song
3.Point/Counterpoint mixed with Keasbey Nights
4.Failing/Flailing

I can't complain though,it was still amazing.
