Permanent Solution 06-10-2007 02:18 PM

My reasoning was thus:
I could post refuting Chris' sillt post about his right to smoke, and we could go back and forth until the thread was entirely derailed and then close it, or I could skip a step and just close it.

Mind, if that second page had discussed anything related to the band alright but meh, it seemed a lost cause. Make a new one if you want.

Well, honestly, though, who really cares if the thread goes off topic? I mean this forum is slow as is and the whole point of online forums is to generate discussion to pass the time and keep from being bored. All the threads in here are pretty much:

Hey, do you guys like [band]?
Yes, they rule! [possibly 20 times]
^ 123

or

Hey, do you guys like [band]?
No, they suck! [possibly 20 times]
^ 123

I get your point and I agree but still...

Eliminator 06-10-2007 03:50 PM

oh how you guys would want the epic battle thread NOW bwahahah!

I agree and it wasn't so much that it was off topic but more that I figured it would result in lots of pointless flaming and arguing so I closed it *shrug*

I'm fine with offtopic as long as it's not silly arguing.

Mute Print 06-10-2007 04:05 PM

There used to be a few awesome threads around here.

ie. Forced Listening.

I think we even had some kind of formal debate threads where like three or 4 people would join each side on an issue. I wasn't ever a part of it, but I seem to remember it being cool.

Unfortunately, a lot of stuff like that probably wouldn't work anymore. The only threads that seem to generate any interest at all are off-topic.

I'll be lucky if I get more than 5 entries for the Pop Punk Music Comp and that has 2 months to get put together so yeh =|

Mute Print 06-10-2007 04:12 PM

Yeah, I know. Pop-punk is so dead right now. :-\

lunchforthesky 06-10-2007 04:21 PM

Most of the regulars have outgrown pop punk so there isn't much incentive for discussion and the influx of new posters is very minimal. Not sure what if anything can be done about it.

Eliminator 06-10-2007 04:25 PM

and also most new pop punk bands suck dick

lunchforthesky 06-10-2007 04:47 PM
and also most new pop punk bands suck dick
Correct.

Permanent Solution 06-10-2007 04:52 PM

I think most people just think they outgrow music because they feel like they need to be more mature.

Jessizzle 06-10-2007 08:22 PM

open my thread V. whip crack.

Permanent Solution 06-10-2007 08:28 PM

If I do I'll delete the majority of posts you might as well make a new one =|
I think most people just think they outgrow music because they feel like they need to be more mature.
Or maybe they just actually mature?

I liked The Spice Girls when I was eight am i just pretending to mature when i don't like them now?

Permanent Solution 06-11-2007 06:31 PM

Anyone who pretends not to like the Spice Girls is obviously putting up a front.

Word man. I totally understand and completely agree, then. :D
and also most new pop punk bands suck dick
Tr00f. The last of the good pop-punk bands all formed in the 80s and 90s.

Permanent Solution 08-17-2007 09:30 AM

i am planning on putting on a top 100 pop punk songs comp after my miserable failure of the music comp, thoughts?

B 08-17-2007 11:19 AM

would be interesting to see how it goes

Mute Print 08-17-2007 11:25 AM

Might as well. What's the worst that could happen?

cobert 08-17-2007 11:58 AM

I'm pretty sure this is the worst that could happen.

Haha I forgot we even did one before. I tend to forget really bad things no one wants to remember though ^_^

B 08-17-2007 01:19 PM

idk that list has some really good songs and i can see why that tbs song is top considering its one of the most famous actually good pop punk songs of all time

way too much BN

this time only one song for each band imo

Permanent Solution 08-18-2007 09:07 AM

well im going to make a strong suggestion that there's only one song per band per person during noms but i mean if you really hav 2 favs from a band i'm not going to say no, you know?

DJ Ducksauce 08-18-2007 11:43 AM
/wants 26-150

Haha our typing seems to get worse the further back you go, despite never recalling our typing being that bad.
