Good enough ;)

It would be incredible if they played ozzfest with marty friedman or chris poland, ellefson, and nick menza.
but i dont think that would happen, dont ellefson and mustiane like hate each other now? |
The band pretty much fell apart after Risk.
It would be awesome if Menza and Friedman were there, Ellefson wasn't really integral to Megadeth IMO but it'd be cool if he was there. |
I doubt that junior and Dave will headbang on the same stage again. As for Marty, he's in Japan now playing for Japanese pop and rock bands. He loves it, lives in that country and that's great he found what he was looking for. I don't understand why people accuse him of touring with pop stars (well, I did that too, but now I'm sorry).
Nick, I think lied to Megadeth about his foot that's why they fired him. And Dave hates liars. So, put a cross on him too. Chris on the other hand was the closest "ex" to re-join the band, as he played on TSHF. But now that his management sued Dave and he's probably touring somewhere with OHM, it seems beyond reality. And I don't know what Al or Jimmy are doing now. Anyone??? I'd really love to see Chris there again but I guess the new guys should get a chance and take part in the next record (if there's any). I heard only positive things about new members and if Dave's also happy about them (which is a rare thing: happy Mustaine), then why not??? |
Poland sued Dave? For what? Dave seems to have forgiven Poland for stealing his gear back in the 80s... Nick had some medical thing... okay. I could see Marty maybe doing something in the future because there's no bad blood between him and Dave, but I think Dave asked him to rejoin and he declined.
Anyway, Glen is a great guitarist, IMO better than Al, I'd like to see what he can bring to the table composition wise. |
Well...if Dave doesn't make a new Megadeth album, this lineup will be his solo lineup, afaik. If he makes a new 'deth album, this will still be the lineup.
Menza was supposed to come back for the tour, but IIRC he wasn't physically able to perform the songs anymore or something like that. I'd love to see Dave/Marty/James/Nick though. That'd be amazing imo. |
Hands up who thinks Nick Menza is the best metal drummer!
*Raises hand* |

IMO he was the glue that held everything together. i've read many articles saying that he was always the peacekeeper, much like kirk in metallica. I'm stuck between Menza and Nicko McBrain.
I abstain. |

Yeah, It'd be cool if he was there, can't see it happening though. |

Since Dave had 100% creative control on TSHF, I don't think they needed a peacekeeper.
Hands up who thinks Nick Menza is the best metal drummer! *Raises hand*
He's good, but Cryptopsy's drummer almost single handedly makes their music great as opposed to average... and um... Portnoy, and Nile and Morbid Angel's drummers. |

Don't forget the drummer from Lykathea Aflame. His drumming is mind boggling. |

Pretty much every death metal drummer > Menza actually... |
That's kind of unfair. The drummers in death metal do different things then Menza, and vice versa. Yeah, death metal drummers can do things Menza can't, but I'm sure it can go both ways. It's like going up to someone and going "Ozzy is good and all, but there's this guy at the Opera that will blow him away". They simply just do different things.
Poland sued Dave? For what? Dave seems to have forgiven Poland for stealing his gear back in the 80s...
It was not actually Poland......it was his management that sued Dave first. I don't think Chris would do such a thing. The reason was that Dave released new Rust In Peace with 4 additional demos with Chris' solos which were recorded in 1990 before they invited Marty. And I'm going to buy it as a Chris Poland freak. |
why not just find someone on soulseek with the remaster? Saves you from buying and album you presumably already have.
|
do we want another album if it's gonna be poor?
TSHF was such a good album do we want another risk or TWNAH? |
Well, I don't have Rust In Peace so I will already buy the one with bonus tracks. ha ha
Besides, I love collecting CDs. This desease began a few years ago when I went to friend's house and saw his older brothers CD collection. Can you imagine a whole library of CDs??? It was like he had a huge record store at home. Everything from Roxette and T-Rex to Motorhead and Manowar. It was fantastic ! |
train of consequences is a killer tune!!!
do we want another album if it's gonna be poor?
I'm pretty sure Dave wrote two albums worth of material, and released TSHF, so another album would probably be in the same style. |
Your attitude should be more like "**** yeah! Another album!"
If you don't like the new album, it's not like all the other ones get worse, there still there and just as good. |
I'd rather not adopt the Metallica fan's self consolation method though :p

It's not a method, it's a fact. Right now, when you're listening to Megadeth albums you have the ones you like and you love them. If Megadeth makes a bad album, you'll still be in the same situation. You still have those albums, and you still love them. Besides, I don't see why Mustaine would change it around after TSHF got good reviews and such. After you make some bad ones, and then make a good one, I think you realize what made them bad or good. |
I agree, although I doubt Metallica will come back with a good album.

I haven't said the word Metallica yet in this convorsation before now, no one was talking about that. Unnecissary-ness  |
I know you haven't, I'm just saying, Metallica have made some bad albums, and some great albums (like Megadeth has), but I still doubt they'll be able to come back. Sorry if it came across in a bad way.

I didn't notice if anyone said anything, but have you all watched the new video? Of Mice and Men?
