i think they tried to make the lead singer sound like phil

Metal'til'death 05-14-2004 07:17 PM

This may be irrelevant but who is the best thrash guitarist> At the moment I like Marty Friedman.
^ THANK YOU JONDUR!

Take THAT manu! I was right all along! :p
Why? I'm wrong because of Jondur's opinion? I don't like either band.

Ordered Cryptopsy's None So Vile and Blasphemy Made Flesh today... That will be awesome.

JMet: Did you ever get my CDs or what?

milano mosh 05-14-2004 07:26 PM
i think they tried to make the lead singer sound like phil
Which in result made him sound like the singer from Drowning Pool :(
Black Sabbath wasn't very fast but they are still loved by almost every metal fan and most rock fans too.
Yes, but Black Sabbath were good, and unique. Though I'm not really into them much...

Tommy Vetterli from Coroner ;)... Listen to any of their recordings, and you shall see. ;)

JMetallica 05-14-2004 11:14 PM

I've had most ozzy albums for a good few years now, but haven't got into black sabbath very much at all until i picked up some post-ozzy stuff.

And yeah i did... thanks for them mate :thumb:
Why? I'm wrong because of Jondur's opinion? I don't like either band.
Well, you're the one who always said "when it comes to Metal, Jondurs word is the law" or something like that...

SlaveToTheGrind 05-15-2004 05:59 AM

so.. i've downloaded the whole song and i really like it, especially the solo. someone said that the voice is so high pitched but i don't think so. bands like nasum have higher pitched voices

LordDargon 05-15-2004 06:01 AM

Highest pitched screams:
Osegueda (Death Angel)
McLaren (Razor)
Lord Worm. He is god.

SlaveToTheGrind 05-15-2004 06:17 AM

is osegueda the guy of death angel with the long hair?

ThrashMaster27 05-15-2004 08:39 AM

Ha! I got a good argument going there (well done me) anyway, I have another question.

Anybody heard the latest Death Angel album? I picked it up today and it's pretty good. Some great solos and mad riffage, as usual. Any opinions on it?

Corporal Compendia 05-15-2004 12:53 PM
Hey Corporal , do you ever go to the dungeon?(asking cuz you said you lived in oshawa)
Yes, I do go to The Dungeon... if anyone good ever plays there, which isn't too often, though on June 10th, Evirus and a few other bands are playing, so I'll probably be there for that.

Girl-Playing-Bass 05-15-2004 02:37 PM
is osegueda the guy of death angel with the long hair?
you're joking right..?

Ratmevilempire 05-15-2004 07:52 PM

Bump, Page two

Did you go to the classic metal night a month or so ago?

The Ultra Violence > The Art Of Dying > Act III > Frolic Through The Park

It's pretty decent and kind of what i was expecting from them. Not a total thrasher, but not a total abomination either. They were trying, but they just didn't have that little something thats needed to make a great album.

JMetallica 05-16-2004 03:32 AM

Oh, and Thrashmaster (and anyone else from Australia) have you heard any 'Dark Order'. I've been rocking out to 5000 Years Of Violence for the past few months and they are really something. Awesome thrash!

SlaveToTheGrind 05-16-2004 03:43 AM
you're joking right..?
no i'm not joking. i don't know much of death angel. and i don't like their music

JMetallica 05-16-2004 03:57 AM

Death Angel* and i think what GPB was getting at was the fact that all 5 members have long hair. ;)

They're the ones that have a Vocalist that sounds kinda like Max Cavalera aren't they? I have heard 5000 Years Of Violence, briefly....sounded pretty ace aswell. I'll see if I can pick up some of their stuff from Metal Mayhem.

SlaveToTheGrind 05-16-2004 04:15 AM

no one member has short hair. im sorry i should have if he's the guy with the short hair or something like that ;)

GraveRobbersINC 05-16-2004 07:26 AM

The Titans are accepting of Venom right, I bought Black Metal yesterday and I would like to switch from PtK to BM, is that alright?

LordDargon 05-16-2004 08:17 AM

No problem, though I personally wouldn't switch :)

Corporal Compendia 05-16-2004 09:25 AM
Did you go to the classic metal night a month or so ago?
Can't say that I did. Was that the Betrayer show?

Girl-Playing-Bass 05-16-2004 09:34 AM
no i'm not joking. i don't know much of death angel. and i don't like their music
GraveRobbersINC 05-16-2004 10:02 AM

SlaveToTheGrind 05-16-2004 10:22 AM
oh ok than. Well you know how evrybody looks japanese or something? well he's the only one who doesn't :)
ah ok thanks :)

ThrashMaster27 05-16-2004 10:28 AM
So death is from bay area right, but where did thrash metal originate?
What? I thought Death Metal started in Florida....

Thrash Metal officially originated in the Bay Area, but earlier influences would mean it started to spread in England firstly.

GraveRobbersINC 05-16-2004 10:34 AM

lol, ok, and the bay area is in florida isn't it?

sensitiveorgan00 05-16-2004 10:34 AM

The Bay Area is in California.
