They were as I said, mediocre at SS. I would say worst band was probably The Faceless, but I wasn't familar with any of their matierial, so it sounded like alot of noise to me. They were still decent though.

RetiredAt21 07-11-2007 08:36 PM

Wasn't As Blood Runs Black there? They are pretty horrible.

LifeInABox 07-11-2007 08:44 PM

I like them, actually. They do Death Metal/Metalcore better than alot of the competition, even if it is alittle bit generic. The worst bands actually, were the openers from around Boston. They sucked. Zyklon was kinda cool though. I don't know if it's spelled that way, but it's not the BM band.

Hbp, you're an idiot. The Faceless is decent, a bit boring though, whereas As Blood Runs Black is HORRIBLE.

LifeInABox 07-11-2007 10:01 PM

I like The Faceless's newest album from what I've heard, and their set was good, but I liked the others more.

Pfft, wasn't Suicide Silence there? and As Blood Runs Black? and Cattle Decapitation, Necrophagist, Arsis, and Dying Fetus?

That sounds like a pretty bad line-up, honestly.

You're horrible. How can you like JFaC and ASP but not ABRB? same thing, pretty much.

ABRB's drummer is very, very good, though I suspect the drums are horribly overtriggered on Allegiance.

No Suicide Silence, Arsis, or Dying Fetus. I was curious to hear Arsis and they didn't show up. I love Dying Fetus, and they weren't their either. What gives?

All of those bands are good, but all sound quite different BRA.

You're kidding right? As Blood Runs Black sounds like a local band that accidentally got noticed, All Shall Perish and Job For A Cowboy actually know how to write music that transitions.

Besides, All Shall Perish and Job For A Cowboy actually have good vocals.
ABRB's drummer is very, very good
No, he's just fast

They have thier defining qualities, but ultimately they all do Death metal with an american twist (with the breakdowns and such). The vocals can also be strikingly similar. The music itself and sound varies, yes, but I still don't see how he can like two and absolutely despise the other one....

Yes, Matt, he's fast, but pay attention to the rythms on Allegiance. That takes talent, don't deny.

LifeInABox 07-11-2007 10:14 PM

That is true, but DM is from America so...

But otherwise, I agree, except JFAC don't use any breakdowns with Genesis, so it's harder to put them in that category.

Invicta_Veritas 07-11-2007 10:15 PM

Yea, I still haven't really listened to Genesis all the way through, I just got it...

I was just gonna say that...

i am the robots 07-11-2007 10:16 PM

Those bands are so distinctly different it's hilarious. That's like saying Today Is The Day and Converge are the exact same thing.

Invicta_Veritas 07-11-2007 10:17 PM

DM is from America? Says who? Bands from both US and Europe emerged around the same time...

i am the robots 07-11-2007 10:19 PM

Except Slipknot was the first one to make it big, therefore it's American.

Invicta_Veritas 07-11-2007 10:21 PM

Except Slipknot wasn't Death Metal.

i am the robots 07-11-2007 10:22 PM

Except Slipknot started death metal.

Anyway, Today Is The Day is pretty nice.
