Rushmore? Amelie? Indie kids have great taste in movies.

On the subject of reading, when I finished Please Kill Me about a month ago, I momentarily felt sorry for Johnny Thunders. Then I remembered he was a junkie who brought it upon himself.

You are strange Ian.

I hereby declare Rosemary's Baby to be one of the greatest films ever made.

Meliorative 12-19-2005 03:35 AM

Watched Forrest Gump today.

Speaking of Amelie, I didn't really like it. Maybe I need to watch it again.

I loved I <3 Huckabees, though. It has Dustin Hoffman yelling 'Give me the teddy!' in it, hence my custom title.

superpeer 12-19-2005 07:07 AM

Ah, Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain, eh? I hope you Americans/Brits/Aussies/Canadians don't dub foreign films. I hate dubbed films.

sweboy 12-19-2005 08:20 AM

Dubbed films are hilarious. To the bone. No matter what genre the film is, dubbing it always makes it a comedy.

superpeer 12-19-2005 08:33 AM

No, man, maybe for five minutes, but it really ruins 90% of films or series. Especially the Germans and the French are awful at it. Subtitles for life.

My User Title is from the part where Hoffman, Law, and the other woman are discussing Law's life, and then suddenly the demented "How am I not me?" part pops up. I loved that.

I don't think you're ready.
No, I am. I'm ready.
Well, have you ever transcended space and time?
Yes... well, uh no, space.. not time... No I have no idea what you're talking about.

Just saw King Kong at the cinemas, it's pretty good.

Sometimes it's hilarious, if it's a comedy (like Kung-Fu Hustle, which had me rolling in the aisles) but if it's a drama (like Cidade De Deus) then I think it's better to have subtitles.

superpeer 12-19-2005 11:46 AM

I hate how every character in series on french TV have the same voice. :p I really don't understand how they can watch it, the jokes are so so so unfunny translated and the drama series are extra corny.

Glitterati 12-19-2005 11:48 AM

I just put on some Dead Kennedys with my speakers unknowingly turned waaaaay up, so I think my whole neighborhood just heard the intro to "Nazi Punks Fuck Off."

Luxor 12-19-2005 12:40 PM

Alright, my birthday is on Wednesday and I'm getting some cash. Can anyone give me suggestions of what some good movies to get would be? I've already got the Exorcism of Emily Rose on my list, just because I really enjoyed it a lot.

Alright, I'm up, showered, and dressed (in jeans and an Alice Cooper shirt, no less), and Streetlight Manifesto is playing on my computer.

IMO, this is an example of a perfect start to any day.

Did you? I thought it was rather disappointing, too much focus on the court stuf.

Nope, subtitled. I don't mind subtitles, but it is hard trying to read and pay attention to whats going on sometimes.

I was given a goldfish today.

I always figured you were older than me. Then again, I just turned sixteen and I act like I'm eleven, so...yeah. Happy birthday dude.
