This information is probably nothing new, but the call from "Faaip de Oiad" took place on Art Bell's show on September 11, 1997.
:thumb:
news to me, that's awesome. I used to love that radio show, but it got too weird to take seriously |
Haha...behemoth is right. I may upload it later, but right now all my bandwitdth is being used by my friend getting files off me, and my own downloading. =\
Behemoth? what? i wann have it ... i love behemoth :thumb: |
one of the perks of maynard's voice is how he pronounces the word "lie," almost like it rhymes with "boy."
like in Intolerance: "You LOY, cheat and steal, LOY cheat and steal, LOY cheat and steal, and yet I toleraaaaaaate." |

I guess. His voice has evolved a lot, IMO. Listen to Opiate, and then Lateralus, or A Perfect Circle. It sounds different, and better, IMO.
|
Very wierd. Now Jones is using a chorus pedal and Justin is using a flanger? That seems backwards from previous years, heh. Where exactly did you find these pictures?
Ian- I think it's because of the style in which he delivers the "lie." If you pronounce it as it should while singing in that very guttural, distorted tone, it sounds rather "girlish," for lack of a better term. :p LOY sounds darker, I suppose. repcak- When he said "behemoth," he was referring to the size of the Oklahoma live show, not the band. :p |

Oh, definitely. On Opiate and Undertow, he had a rather one diminsional style, but now he can do his whole nasal croon thing, and he has also greatly improved the technique with which he started off with. He has a very mature voice, and also a very unique one at that. |
Edit: Nevermind, the OK show is on that bootleg page up there. ^
2nd Edit: As far as I can tell there aren't any downloads on that page, so if there is a desire for it I'll upload part one of the OK show again overnight. |
Heh, I see we have another victim of teh chad. Sorry to see that, heh. Well, I won't be having any use for the OK bootleg, but if you're willing, there were several takers whne the OK show was mentioned.

Now ask yourself why the blacked out areas and then maybe just maybe you'll think.. and why do you assume I got them somewhere on the internet? tool DOES appreciate fans. |
Erm what does a chorus pedal exactly do?
|
pig- Where are you from, exactly? You're a lucky bastard. :p
Herb- Listen to the bass intro of 46&2. I'm not sure how to describe it, but just listen carefully, and that's what it does. More guitarists use chorus than bass players, but that ought to give you an idea of what a chorus pedal sounds like. It just creates a different sound. It's often used in a clean setting, but it can also be used wonderfully with distortion. |

Look up. Or down a line or two.

I learned what a chorus pedal is by trying it out. Just look online, and they have demos of pedals, and what not. One time I was at the music store, just playing around w/ the pedals for like a half hour, and then I had to go. I want to get some effect pedals so bad, but I have no money. :upset:

Just dropping in to say 'HEY'. Any new Tool news?
I used to be a regular in here, but I have been on MX a lot less recently. Which, is a good thing, because I now have a life. But still....... |
I have almost abandoned this thread because of the lack of news. I just decided to forget about the new album and listen to Dredg, Nevermore, Extol, Dillinger Escape Plan, Dark Tranquility, Porcupine Tree, and Mastodon.

From what I remember, Extol wasn't anything special, but that was a while ago. Name off songs to change my mind, this instant! |
Ember, Undecieved. I'll send you some if you'd like. They go from tech to melo to emo to power. They're also Christian but you really can't tell.

Please do: doom___cannon@hotmail.com I knew they were Christian, but only because a friend told me (which is where I first heard them). I'd've otherwise never known, much like everyone else. |
Someone give me the video where Maynard chokes the fan trying to hug him during Pushit.
Now, please. |
Moses, if you end up sending those Extol songs to him you might as well send them to me as well.
spiralout7@gmail.com if you get around to it. Thanks in advance. :) Oh, and nice overall list of bands you've substituted to take place of Tool. |
Someone give me the video where Maynard chokes the fan trying to hug him during Pushit.

I've ditched Tool for Converge and Pig Destroyer. NP-Converge-Thaw (the really cool "emo" sounding part at the end) :thumb: |
If anyone else wants those 5 Extol songs, just tell me.
