Like the 7 songs on 10kd?
Sure. Who else has written a song about E.t.? :p

Intension is probably my favorite song from them now. I like the electronica/trance drum beats carey was doing on his mandalas mixed with acoustic drums.

I think they should do more stuff like that personally.

Keep an eye out in the future, as it sounds like the solo stuff danny is working on is going to sound like that.

If he ever gets serious and makes a non tool record that is though

Huber 09-12-2006 12:42 PM

I think the next thing on Danny's agenda is a Volto! album, which is awesome.

Rosetta Stoned is definitely my fave. Then Jambi, then after that it's really hard to tell. Intension is extremely unique, although it's entirely too similiar to something APC would write. I mean, the vocal effect is very close to the one used during the intro of Vanishing. Even the ambience is reminiscient of APC.

Statutory Ape 09-12-2006 03:11 PM

Intension is on of my favorites...Great vibe, beautiful guitar. And I love what they're doing with the electronics.

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-12-2006 03:15 PM

PS: I just remembered that they signed a 3 album deal with Volcano, and there's at least one album, maybe even two left on the contract.

Kage 09-12-2006 03:17 PM

I haven't listened to 10,000 Days in some time. I need to dig that up and give it a listen.

TojesDolan 09-12-2006 03:45 PM

I'm starting to get sick of "Vicarious". It's very infectious, but highly reminiscent to Lateralus.

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-12-2006 03:46 PM

I was sick of it, then I realized that I've never gotten sick of a Tool song, so I decided to learn it instead. Compromise.

Salivation 09-12-2006 03:52 PM

I've listened to 10,000 days so many times that im sick of the first few tracks not because I dont like the songs just because I've heard the songs sooo many times....wings pt. 2 is my favorite song on the cd still though and it has been since i bought it

TojesDolan 09-12-2006 03:57 PM

The thing is they are catchy but they are boring.

>_>

Yeah.

Syncratic 09-12-2006 08:13 PM

I'm starting to believe that we'll never see a Vicarious video.

And one for The Pot? Forget about it.

Huber 09-12-2006 08:34 PM

I think because they put so much time in between there albums they will go a long way. Maybe after making an album and touring non stop back to back you get sick of it and a band splits, but these guys go and do other things and give them a break. So, I'm sure when it comes time they go, "Haven't done Tool in awhile. Sounds like fun."

Like going to a good restaurant you haven't been to in awhile.

That's a good point.

A lot of young bands tend to be naive about that fact. It's like, they break up, when all they really needed was just some time off. That happened tot he first incarnation of King Crimson--a good number of the members quit and then realized their mistake just a few months later when it was too late.

Do you mean the cartoon one with all the plants on a plantation and stuff? If so, shut up. :p If you mean something else, then do tell.

misunderstood 09-13-2006 10:06 AM

I can't believe they postponed the show last night! After all my traveling! Nah, it was only an hour, heh. But still! Well, at least I got tickets for Isis' show tonight.

*upset*

got tool? 09-13-2006 03:04 PM
Anyways, I have a couple requests: First, can someone send me one or both of Puscifers songs? I'm interested on where Maynard will be going after Tool. Second, does anyone have a live AND extended version of Opiate? I've never heard anyone proclaim the badassity of this version, but it was honestly a highlight of the show for me.
I can send them both to you.

Email address?

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-13-2006 03:06 PM

Thanks.

GenuineImitation 09-13-2006 03:08 PM

got tool? 09-13-2006 03:12 PM

I'll send megaupload links since my email takes forever to attach files larger than a word document

That's the guy who actually made it. Read the blurb:
A very nice blend of Rene Laloux and Tool.

I did not do the artwork, however I did mix and edit the movie to fit the song.

So to everyone that flames me on ripping off mister Laloux, needs to read all the praise I have gotten from various viewers, I think they turned out well.
Salivation 09-13-2006 09:17 PM

I only said what i said cuz when i typed in tool in the search bar that video came up and the link to it said something like "Tool- the pot OFFICIAL VIDEO" im not dissing it i guess just somepoeple re-posted it and got lame with it

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-13-2006 10:09 PM

Yeah, I didn't meean for you to actually shut up, but yeah, I just thought it was silly of people to be all "OMG POT VID IT BLOWS" and stuff. My friend said that, so I stole all his Tool paraphanalia and beat him. Shear stupidity makes me do that. :p

got tool? - kthx, I'll check em out.

Darkness 09-13-2006 10:12 PM

I have no idea what to do with my 10,000 Days poster... It's just to big to put anywhere in my room. And my parents won't let me have it up in the basement family room (where I dwell..). It would even match the red wall it would be on...

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-13-2006 11:54 PM

Did you get one of those 25 dollar ones at the concert? Those things were absurdly enormous.

Salivation 09-15-2006 04:10 PM

I have the extremely large undertow poster/The one thats like the inside of the book with the pins and needles in pauls face and the mask thing on maynard

That's correct. And it was 30 dollars for me. Canada prices. :p

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-16-2006 11:04 AM

How much were shirts? I really wanted an ISIS shirt, but who pays 35 bucks for a T shirt? Damn.
How much were shirts? I really wanted an ISIS shirt, but who pays 35 bucks for a T shirt? Damn.
:upset: ..I do. I only pay that much money for a shirt at concerts and only when i know that particular shirt won't be sold somewhere else for a much lower price. So i guess it's usually those shirts with the dates on the back or something.

Darkness 09-16-2006 04:17 PM

Me too... I paid 40 for a Tool shirt. :upset:

blue3 09-16-2006 06:17 PM
Me too... I paid 40 for a Tool shirt. :upset:
Yeah, but it's Tool! Aren't they your favorite band?

Insipid2000 09-16-2006 06:24 PM

I paid 40 for my shirt aswell its from the Lateralus days with the Man and the flaming eye like in the Parabola video, though I wish I paid less but its Tool so who cares.

Txus 09-16-2006 07:05 PM

^ I paid 20 bucks for the same shirt......

Futuro 09-16-2006 07:17 PM

I had to make my tool shirts lol. They dont come in XXL :(

Turkish 09-16-2006 07:25 PM

I just got back from the Kansas City showing in Kemper Arena yesterday, the show was absolutely amazing. The first time I've seen Tool in 4 years since their Lateralus tour. The show was nothing short of amazing, the lazer-light show during Wings pt. 1 and pt. 2 were absolutely amazing...I just sat there with my mouth opened wide. I felt bad because Maynard has been pretty sick for the past week so he started skipping lyrics during Vicarious and Aenema because his voice was giving out I think.

"I've been sick for about a week now, so we're not supposed to do this song, but we're going to tonight. Not because I'm a nice guy, not because I love you, but because you guys will bitch like little babies if I don't...so here's my anti-moaning sauce." - Maynard before "The Pot".

I lol'd quite hard at that quote.

Futuro 09-16-2006 08:27 PM

Ah maynards a nice guy. :p
