Comfortably Numb is about going to the emerency room. At first I thought it was about shooting heroin.

5. Purple Haze - Jimi Hendrix
Thats one of the meanings behind Purple Haze. Hendrix said that a lot of it was about a dream (though probally a trip) that he had. He said he wrote it to have many meanings, and it think the drug one is obvouis. Though it still works for the list.

Just a note on the Comfertably Numb thing, it may also be about herion too. In the Wall commentary Waters said that during the Animals tour he was sick and to get him to go the the show he was injected with somthing by a docter and he had to play the show. I think he may have been in withdrawl and was injected with heroin, but thats just a theory.

And according to the lyrics of the Wall, Pink was on heroin hence him having those "swollen hand blues"

To add my own to the list: Faries Wear Boots - Black Sabbath
I'll think of more later.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 04-08-2005 01:59 PM

Isn't "Dr. Robert" about Bob Dylan and how he got them to smoke weed? :smoke:

Walrus Gumboot 04-08-2005 01:59 PM
Crystal meth...crystal ship....
Is there any evidence behind that or is it just speculation, because the lyrics don't really point toward it too obviously, did Morrison do meth?

Walrus Gumboot 04-08-2005 02:01 PM
Isn't "Dr. Robert" about Bob Dylan and how he got them to smoke weed? :smoke:
"Got To Get You Into My Life" was written by Paul the day after he smoked weed for the first time, which, as legend has it, was given to him by Bob Dylan

Dr. Robert was about a doctor in NYC who gave drugs to celebrities

Everybody Must Get Stoned - Dylan

I'm just making wild guesses :)

True,

(Oh won't you come with me, please take my hand, oh won't you come with me, and walk this land) is obviously an acid trip.

Even if it's not about drugs, we know for sure they were on drugs when they wrote it.
