christsimpson 01-26-2012 02:58 PM

Gorgon 01-26-2012 03:00 PM

holy shit could your interface be any more unsightly?

christsimpson 01-26-2012 03:03 PM

my interface is krieg and I can probably write a lengthy thesis on why it is better than yours from several different aspects, including but not limited to functionality, logic and ergonomics.

StaffReviewer 01-26-2012 03:03 PM

i still use the windows 98 look on xp
way bettr than the default

christsimpson 01-26-2012 03:04 PM

I use a classic windows look on my gaming computer with windows 7... but I prefer not to do anything in windows except for what I do with my playstation - launch games. windows is a nightmare to use.

Gorgon 01-26-2012 03:05 PM

get w7 @elim

wish there was a good QNX based OS that could be actually used. so sick of unix

Dude, every computer I use dual boots XP/7 and the Mac OS.

COME AT ME.

Gorgon 01-26-2012 03:06 PM

why is your task bar on the side when it would make more sense on the bottom
it'd take less space and give you the same space for text

not to mention icons are more recognizable than text when looking for an application

and fixed width looks like shit

christsimpson 01-26-2012 03:07 PM
get w7 @elim

uh QNX *is* a UNIX-like OS. though I don't know why you'd use QNX or something based on QNX.

Gorgon 01-26-2012 03:09 PM

it's not unix
and it's not unix-like either

and probably just because it's not bloated and full of random shit like unix is. Everything being a plug in would be so nice, wouldn't deal with the weird things windows or unix decides to pull all the time.

plus it was invented in my home town

christsimpson 01-26-2012 03:09 PM

why does it make more sense to have it on the bottom? I have it on the side because my monitor is 16:10 not 10:16, and because you can't fit all that information if it was horizontal. it'd have to rotate the text or summat.

icons would be useless. almost every application I have running are run from a terminal emulator, so the only icon that would appear would be a bunch of boxes.

fixed width what?

christsimpson 01-26-2012 03:10 PM

QNX is a UNIX-like operating system. I have never heard anyone dispute this. even Wikipedia agrees. it's even (mostly) POSIX.

just use Linux or FreeBSD then.

Gorgon 01-26-2012 03:12 PM

wow unix-like is the stupidest adjective ever

what information? the text? if you made it one line tall (or two) you could fit all that info and more on the bottom of the screen and have more real estate

fixed width fonts look like shit

StaffReviewer 01-26-2012 03:14 PM

ive thougth about tryin ubuntu im pretty stupid tho

no. just tried it for the lulz. the panel would have to be huge, or the font tiny.

monospace is the only legit font. it differentiates zero and o and capital i and lower case l and so forth. and being monospace means that you can actually rely on columns when you are coding.

Gorgon 01-26-2012 03:16 PM

christsimpson are you running Arch Linux or what?

monospace is only legit for coding
for anything that requires lots of reading it's difficult on the eyes

and what I really don't understand how it doesn't work. It would just look like the task bar in windows

christsimpson 01-26-2012 03:18 PM
ive thougth about tryin ubuntu im pretty stupid tho
ubuntu is really stupid and designed for morons so you should get along then I guess

it's all "LINUX FOR HUMANS NOT GEEKS" so they remove every option and make it completely locked and retarded so that you can't tweak anything without tearing everything apart

so it's Linux for Windows users

the positives hmmmm it's well documented and has a big community I guess
playing hordes of the underdark, i'm investigating some island full of winged elves and there's a wizards tower that has a room full of slaadi
lollllllll nice I initially thought u wear DnDing

Arch Linux is atrocious so thankfully no

monospace is good for anything where you are limiting your columns which I usually do when I am coding or writing markup or whatever and it differentiates all characters appropriately

it doesn't hurt my eyes

the task bar in Windows has ONE work space not twelve work spaces

Gorgon 01-26-2012 03:20 PM

oh yeah I forgot you think windows are stupid

christsimpson 01-26-2012 03:22 PM

"windows are stupid"? lolwut
why would I care. I don't use it.
I'm coming at you then!

Bitches don't want to see some ugly OS. They wanna see that shinny mac shit.
