The ending made my friend cry... However I figure that someone will channel someone's spirit in the 7th book, and that all is not lost. And, someone might have actually been triple crossing his allegiance...
I can't wait for that someone to be ripped to shreds by Harry in the next book, he deserved it that fuckin' bastard.

Riva 07-17-2005 05:55 PM

All I'm saying is that this someone may have asked this other someone to perform a certain curse, simply so that this someone can rise again, much like the Aslan did in the Narnia Chronicles. (The Lion, THe Witch And The Wardrobe).

450+ pages in, and I'm still frustrated with the book's lack of usefullness so far. I can't believe we went from the conflict of Harry being possessed by the Dark Lord (thumbs up) to the conflict of Harry having to retrieve a memory from a loser fat teacher (thumbs down).

That sounds like a very good theory, and I hope it's true.

I miss that someone :upset:.

Edit: Aslan is one cool lion.

Jom 07-17-2005 06:11 PM

Great, even more reasons why I shouldn't go pick up The Half-Blood Prince now.

Drugstep 07-17-2005 06:18 PM

I liked the first, loved the second, loved the third even more, hated the fourth, and I bought the fifth but was never able to read it. Now I don't want to read any of it. It was great stuff, but I just don't care anymore. I lost interest. Plus, more 600++ page books are the last thing I need. I'm busy with Christine, Salem's Lot and Dead Zone right now, all atleast 400 pages.

I couldn't read a HP book in one day. I'm capable, but I wouldn't do it. I've read entire two hundred page books in less than twenty four hours, but that's when I've had like a month to read a book for school and decide I'll finally read it the day before the test. Strangely, I passed the grade.

Lunch 07-17-2005 06:18 PM

How can this book be less entertaining than the first one? Gah, this is killing me. After book 5, I could only concieve that the final two books were going to be action-packed adventures that I could never put down. What's going on? Aren't there death-eaters on the loose, and isn't Voldemort at full power? Where is the all fighting, dueling, etc?

I read HP5 on a six-hour flight from Auckland to Brisbane.

Jason - you're done too?

:upset:

Drugstep 07-17-2005 06:22 PM

He said HP5, not 6.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-17-2005 06:22 PM

 It took me like 2 weeks to read HP%. :upset: I seriously didn't get into that one at all. There was nothing really gripping about that one, so I hope this one is better.

:-/

Animal Farm>Harry Potters
at the end man, keep reading
If it doesn't heat up soon, it's unlikely I'll even be able to get there.

Arucard 07-17-2005 06:22 PM

Thankfully i bought The Janson Directive by Robert Ludlum at the same time as Harry Potter, as i knew it wouldn't live upto expectations.

Sorry. :( I didn't realise you were reading it with your mum and sister.

In other news, my MNM is still there, ready to be posted in.

Drugstep 07-17-2005 06:23 PM

Animal Farm is my second favorite book.

George Orwell >>> Other writers.
He said HP5, not 6.
Oh jeez. I kept getting book 4 and 5 mixed up yesteday when I was trying to explain something to my mom. She asked me what happened to Fudge in the last book and I got confused between him and Barty Crouch. I haven't read the 4 and 5 as much as I should have. Read the first three at least 5 times.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-17-2005 06:25 PM

What's your first?

Riva 07-17-2005 06:25 PM
He said HP5, not 6.
Actually, I've read 5 and 6, and 1,2,3,4. :-/

Like I said before, George Orwell >>> Everyone

I have A Clergyman's Daughter by him too, and I paid twenty bucks for that one paperback, but I haven't gotten around to reading it yet. I intened to read it after Dead Zone.

I did. It was a glitch in firefox that switched me to a different user, and I was logged in on MalcolmYoungRock, so I logged out and back on to Mister Blue Sky.
