Tomorrow night at eight, I get to go to my first official concert. Not rock, though. I get to see B.B. King jam for about two hours. I'm really looking forward to it.

Cain 08-25-2005 04:00 PM

Sup guys. I am now finished with my power metal song for when power metal becomes the monthly metal competition. Anybody want a preview/early critique, to give me stuff to work on until then?

Kingofdudes 08-25-2005 04:00 PM
Any suggestions you have for keyboard use, then? Maybe it's from playing systems that I'm not accustomed to it, even though I can play games like GTA3 and Half-Life 2 without any worries.

With ZSNES, i put the buttons on the "Home" "delete" "insert" "end" areas. It has always worked fine for me

Poop. My goal in life is to see them..

Lord Abortion 08-25-2005 04:11 PM

Yeah, I have a day ticket for leeds tomorrow

Arrakakaka 08-25-2005 04:12 PM

There's these two annoying kids next door riding up and down the street, turning in our driveway. For some reason, it's annoying. Maybe it's because the girl flicked me off (I almost ripped her head off) and her brother is an annoying prick.

Or maybe I'm just in a bad mood?

Kingofdudes 08-25-2005 04:15 PM

im in a good mood. I have FFXI :D

munky_magik 08-25-2005 04:16 PM

I really wanted to go to Reading/Leeds, but the tickets all sold out :(

Illmatic 08-25-2005 04:20 PM
I don't want to sound like Dr. Phil, but how does that make you feel knowing this (and that, in turn, that your suspicions weren't unfounded)?
I'm not sure, really. I mean, I feel a little bitterness/anger towards my birth mother, but it does hurt a little to know that she didn't want me. I know that my "fake" mother is my real mother, and I admire her more now for raising me as if I was her own child. And in a way, I guess I am her real child.

I just wanted to know why she never told me, and she said that when I was a little kid she and my father never knew how or when to tell me, and once my father died she decided to put it off because she didn't want me to grow up knowing that both of my birthparents are gone.

I guess knowing it now that I'm 19 doesn't leave much to be angry/confused about, because I've practically grown up now. I don't think any less of my mom, there's no "you're not my real mom" hostility there.
Who told you?
My mom. I called her at work, got her voicemail, and left a message saying that I needed to talk to her about something very important. Then she called me back not too long ago and I asked her about it, and she told me the story.

Here it is. Don't let the fact that it's related to the Lord of the Rings stop you from listening to it. :) I think it sounds pretty good, there just may be mix issues.

Arrakakaka 08-25-2005 04:33 PM

I need me some Meshuggah. I saw one of their videos on Headbanger's Ball (one of the few good videos I've ever seen on that show) and I really liked it.

Technical Death that doesn't get old fast totally RULES. I love some of the solos he pulls of on Epitah.

Cain: AWESOME song, it's like Symphony X with fake keyboards...or something :p

Oooh yes. Go see Sevenfold, and just watch as Synyster rips up his guitar.

Cain : I want in on a band with you.

Cain 08-25-2005 05:03 PM
That's a seriously good composition man. I really like the strings at the beginning as well...really dramatic, and your guitar work is excellent as ever. It's mixed really well in my opinion, although I'm no expert at mixing songs or anything. Obviously I haven't heard anything that other people would submit, but that honestly sounds really good. How did you do it? You on guitar, and various programs on drums and other instruments, or what? However you did it, great work.
Strings, keyboards, bass and drums come courtesy of the Garageband instruments, and were all subjected to a lot of EQ and tweaking: the stuff you can do on that program is pretty near limitless if you're just one person. The guitars were all me, but incidentally, I had the least fun playing them. It was much more satisying to hear all the orchestral parts, synths, and drums finalized. Guitars were actually the hardest, most annoying part, because for a long while I could not get them EQ'd properly to save my life. The gain was making them peak like crazy and distort the speakers, and the tones I was getting for the lead guitars were very unpleasant and didn't fit with the music. I'm pretty happy with the end result though, this took more than a month of work to complete.

To be honest, I wouldn't expect you to think anything else :)
Do [Slug], Ray and Madey know each other or something?
No, but I think they would be the three people who post here who would get along the most with each other. Like whoever had that Big Brother-esque dream in the Yacht Club where the regulars all lived in this huge mansion, who would get along with whom, who wouldn't get along with whom, and so on.

Okay, I'll can it now.

RCA 08-25-2005 05:46 PM

I think Bobo had that dream.
