i'm not gonna lie i love lil b he is awesome but i think some of you read into his whole gimmick way too much

i take it somewhere between tongue and cheek and taking it seriously

its hard to tell with lil b, i vacillate between thinking hes absolutely insane and thinking hes a genius

the truth lies somewhere in the middle. the guy is an absolute fucking retard, but he is a genius insofar as his guerrilla-style of marketing himself. the whole #based thing, all the myspaces, he's like soulja boy on crack. it's brilliant, i mean when you've got fucking bulldog going around saying #based then you know you've got a widely spread market (and bulldog, you still do not 'understand lil b'). and i admire that his music is the complete antithesis of the ultra polished, completely planned out and usually ghostwritten, and squeaky clean style of rap on the radio these days, but if you really take his music and evaluate it on its own, most of it is really just not that good.

it's almost like the [I]idea[/I] behind "lil b" is much more interesting than the actual [I]artist[/I] "lil b"

yeah there were like 3 decent songs out of about 30 I've listened

not that it makes him less entertaining, just a bad musician
