Well obviously.
Well, yeah.

I heard about it a couple of months ago on this forum and I love it.

I just reviewed it, actually.

mr_jackalope 01-04-2007 11:51 PM

Guerrero's latest is alright. It's just sort of jazzy instrumental music as far as I can tell.

mr_jackalope 01-04-2007 11:52 PM

In fact it's sort of like muzak now that I think about it. Hmm...
Today:

Mission of Burma - Vs.
The Constantines - Tournament of Hearts
Jim O'Rourke - Eureka

I'm now listening to the free jazz album O'Rourke released with a Japanese jazz artist named Akira Sakata. It's pretty accessible for free jazz I guess, or maybe I just like Jim's guitar playing.
eureka is such a good album
eureka is such a good album
His pop phase (Eureka, Insignificance, Halfway to a Threeway, the Loose Fur albums) is like the best thing ever.
Old Time Relijon

Pere Ubu - Dub Housing

Jawaharal 01-05-2007 09:57 AM

deus - Ideal Crash
matsushita electric cassette - this is what happens when you fight a stranger in the alps

the later is like Lighting Bolt discovering a drum machine and a keyboard. Some songs are pretty good but others are just to noisy.
A Wilhelm Scream - Ruiner

"The King Is Dead" is all sorts of awesome.
That and the one with Morissey on the title are the only songs I liked on that album. Everything else is meh
His pop phase (Eureka, Insignificance, Halfway to a Threeway, the Loose Fur albums) is like the best thing ever.
Yeah pretty much. And the stuff he did with Sonic Youth and Wilco are excellent. But I guess everyone already knows that.

Wilco - A Ghost is Born

Lacking in many ways, although I find "At Least That's What You Said" and "Theologians" to be real keepers.

Good thing. His guitarist was the coolest person ever.

Boilermaker 01-05-2007 06:48 PM

Arcade Fire – Funeral.
Just really listening to this for the first time in a while. The first song is sick, but the rest of it doesn’t quite hold up. Still a really great album though.

Eliminator 01-05-2007 06:52 PM

"Crown of Love", "Wake Up", "Haiti" and "In the Backseat" are all as good, if not better, than that song.

Bukowski 01-05-2007 06:56 PM

Wake Up >

anyway, digging:

Butthole Surfers - Locust Abortion Technician
Butthole Surfers - Brown Reason to Live
Butthole Surfers - Electriclarryland

Yeah, they're one of the best ever.

el doctor 01-05-2007 07:05 PM

I tried getting Arcade Fire tickets today but all 5 shows sold out pretty much instantly. :(

Can - Future Days
Bob Dylan - The Bootleg Series, Vol. 4: The "Royal Albert Hall" Concert

mr_jackalope 01-05-2007 08:02 PM

"Wake Up" is like the worst song ever, but the rest of the album is totally deec.

Eliminator 01-05-2007 08:02 PM

lol

bleep_bloop 01-05-2007 08:08 PM

ive been digging off minor and i love you but i've chosen darkness

asymm 01-05-2007 08:44 PM

The Bronx - The Bronx II
MC5 - Kick Out the Jams
then I plan on listening to Bee Thousand and reading the corresponding 33 1/3 book I bought on it.

Boilermaker 01-05-2007 09:09 PM

What's the book called?

Eliminator 01-05-2007 09:12 PM

Joanna Newsom - Ys

Still awesome.

J Dilla - Donuts.

Great stuff, even though I listened to it out of order. I like the sampling of the Beastie Boys in one of the songs.

mr_jackalope 01-05-2007 09:45 PM

Boredoms - Super ae

The tribal phase of these guys is basically the best tribal rhythm based music ever made.

ATM 01-05-2007 10:06 PM

Kno (of Cunninlynguists) -The White Album
Miaou - Painted
Maserati - Inventions For the New Season (highly reccomended)
Manu Chao - Clandestino

asymm 01-05-2007 10:45 PM
What's the book called?
Bee Thousand ... it's part of the Continuum book series, 33 1/3. I have a handful already, they're wonderful.

I loving hearing the line, "You motherfuckers, I want your bloooooood!" It's been soundtracking my day.
