Ya college food won't help but UW marching band is apparently really intense and helps you stay in shape so we'll see how that goes hah.
Me too. I don't have the muscle mass to be severely defined, but toned is a good word to use.

I quit smoking a few months ago and bought a mountain bike for trails and such so I'm pretty into that now.

i think a year of eating dorm food took a lot out of my physique
Oh no well that is for when the school year starts, my summer job is clam digging hah. It pays well though, I got a 500 dollar paycheck for 9 days of work.

Nice. It's been 3 month-ish without smoking and I'm still craving it everyday, regardless of biking or exercise.

Just hoping the cravings shake sometime soon but I think I melt a little inside every time I smell a cigarette burning.

Angmar 07-15-2009 10:09 PM

idk it's tedious as **** and I'm always exhausted but eh I typically get like 5 days of work in a row then a week off.

Deth 07-15-2009 10:10 PM

honestly if you gain weight in college you're doing it wrong and an idiot

illmitch 07-15-2009 10:10 PM

yeah, for my summer job i'm a residential counselor at an academic summer program at KU (university of kansas), so i get free housing and meals (albeit dorms and dorm food)

its pretty fun, but very busy - you only get one day off a week, and you're busy weekends

Congrats! I hope to keep up with the non-smoking.

It kind of dawned on me how much I was spending on them (smoking a pack a day - $10ish) and figured I might as well quit now (since I'm 21) rather than wait another decade when the routine is unbreakable.

I can only hope that in 9 months time the cravings are history!
