RetiredAt21 03-19-2010 08:15 PM

cold black metal from the dark void of spaaaaaace

FatalEnergy 03-19-2010 09:25 PM

Heard a lot about Darkspace, but I've actually never got around to them either.

Didn't seem like they'd be my kind of thing.

Silenius 03-20-2010 04:01 AM

I thought Wintherr actually drummed in Paysage...

Meatplow 03-20-2010 04:03 AM
It's the Edda's read by Sveinbjorn Beinteinsson. Don't know why someone slapped it over Burzum though.

I have the album of that dude reading the stuff though. It's weird, it says like "Current 93 Presents" or some **** on the cover.

Sveinbjorn Beinteinsson

space music

Morumbar 03-20-2010 10:47 AM

They often hang out and chill on the frosty plains of Uranus.

RetiredAt21 03-20-2010 10:55 AM

When I'm high and listen to Darkspace I actually feel like I'm floating in the black and unforgiving vacuum of spaaaaaace.

FatalEnergy 03-20-2010 02:53 PM

Listening to Triptykon.

This first song is actually really ****ing good. It starts out like Triumph of Death. Then Tom says stuff about Satan being his master.

Not what I was expecting.

FatalEnergy 03-21-2010 12:13 AM

Went through about 5 black metal blogs today full of just boring, shitty, generic bands all doing **** I've heard a billion times before.

Either that, or goofy ****ing modern sounding faggot black metal.

I think I've heard just about everything that is good in the genre.

Meatplow 03-21-2010 01:32 AM

it was bound to happen sooner or later

maybe take a break?

Morumbar 03-21-2010 05:14 AM

Or maybe try something other than raw war black metal.

Meatplow 03-21-2010 05:58 AM

what is the best example of "raw war black metal" that I could ever listen to?

Countorus 03-21-2010 06:47 AM

nyogthaeblisz

Totally forgot, sorry. Will do later.

bloozclooz 03-21-2010 11:00 AM

assuming they count as black metal, anyone know a good place to start with Belphegor?

ck_ck 03-21-2010 11:02 AM

nowhere

bloozclooz 03-21-2010 11:11 AM

as in they're not black? or they just suck? i heard a bit of them on last.fm radio, and they seemed pretty tight

ck_ck 03-21-2010 11:12 AM

they suck

witchxrapist 03-21-2010 11:25 AM

Bondage Goat Zombie

bloozclooz 03-21-2010 11:45 AM
they suck
maybe i'm asking in the wrong place. i'm looking for solid blackened death that has good song writing, without the black parts becoming overwhelming. like "zos kia cultus" or "ex inferis"

RouteOne 03-21-2010 11:48 AM

Heiling Bilskirnir all day.

masscows 03-21-2010 12:00 PM

belphegor is way more black than death, they're alot like marduk with better riffs and songwriting

go for pestapokalypse first. their early stuff (blutsabbath etc) is supposed to be good too but i haven't heard it.

witchxrapist 03-21-2010 12:12 PM

Their early stuff is good, the new stuff is lol.

Stevie 03-21-2010 12:13 PM

no, there's no good place to start with belphegor
course you could always apply the "older is better" rule of thumb i use

witchxrapist 03-21-2010 12:16 PM

lul

masscows 03-21-2010 12:18 PM

their newest 2 have been god awful, pestapokalypse brings the satan pretty hard though tbh. great riffing.
