Apocalypticon 12-29-2007 08:17 PM

a rating of 5/5 means the positive sides of the album outweigh the negative sides of the album so much that the negative side is virtually non-existent

Valhall 12-29-2007 08:18 PM
I didn't mean universally or generally or whatever the **** you're thinking here. I meant personally.
I try to be objective though. If I rated based purely on personal "feelings", every Rotting Christ album would have a 5.

plane 12-29-2007 08:18 PM

or that the negative sides work to make the album better

some albums do this yes

edit: well no ****ing duh you still have to have some objectivity
edit2: unless you're cocaine 8)
I try to be objective though. If I rated based purely on personal "feelings", every Rotting Christ album would have a 5.
Wait a minute so you a trying to tell me that how much someone likes an album is completely subjective! No Wai!

Valhall 12-29-2007 08:22 PM

Yes Wai!

Apocalypticon 12-29-2007 08:26 PM

Just get it through your head that perfection is an abstract concept. Don't try to rate albums based on how close they are to perfection.

The Door Mouse 12-29-2007 08:29 PM

A good rule of thumb for me if something is a 5 is if I can listen to it until I die and not get sick of it.

Apocalypticon 12-29-2007 08:30 PM

I don't agree. Just cause an album deserves a 5/5 doesn't necessarily mean it has to be timeless. Like with everything their are exceptions. But again thats cause its all subjective.

TojesDolan 12-29-2007 08:41 PM

well it's not like the site can decide wether an album is great for you or not

gmoneyguy 12-29-2007 09:19 PM

What? I thought there was a universal system of album ratings.

TojesDolan 12-29-2007 09:20 PM

yeah like

1 is cool
2 is cooler
3 is coolerer
4 is the coolererer
5 is tlaksdagkjsd =)

Glitterati 12-29-2007 09:21 PM
well it's not like the site can decide wether an album is great for you or not
I make my own choice to give a 100% rating to every Haddaway album.

TojesDolan 12-29-2007 09:22 PM

It's my choice that Eliminator is a good musician.

negrodamus 12-29-2007 09:46 PM

Are you guys happy or sad that the Patriots are losing right now?

plane 12-29-2007 09:46 PM

idc

gmoneyguy 12-29-2007 09:48 PM

Not any more.

negrodamus 12-29-2007 09:53 PM

Rams are gonna win the superbowl tbh.

Shattered_Future 12-29-2007 09:59 PM

GOOOOO PACKERS!

A man can dream, can't he?

I don't honestly give a crap about sports, especially football, in any way, but I root for the Packers.

Tyr 12-29-2007 10:07 PM

American football might be the silliest sport known to man. It's like a boring version of rugby.

Shattered_Future 12-29-2007 10:08 PM

Nah, that award definately goes to soccer. It's like a boring version of painting grass and watching that paint dry while the grass grows.

Tyr 12-29-2007 10:11 PM

It's entertaining during the world championships and the like. Otherwise it's pretty dull, but at least you're allowed to use your feet.

Daven 12-29-2007 10:15 PM

Football (soccer) owns. :p

The Door Mouse 12-29-2007 10:28 PM

I like those kind of sports like soccer and hockey because one goal can mean that that's the winning goal.

As apposed to the NBA were a team can win 120 to 110 =/

Shattered_Future 12-29-2007 10:29 PM

That's precisely why I hate soccer. It takes like an hour for anybody to score.

Valhall 12-29-2007 10:29 PM

NASCAR ftw, tbqh.

And I hate the fact that the Patriots just won.

Erratic 12-29-2007 10:31 PM

Does anyone seriously like watching golf? I mean come one.

The Door Mouse 12-29-2007 10:31 PM
That's precisely why I hate soccer. It takes like an hour for anybody to score.
Yeah but when they do score it's very exciting.

Daven 12-29-2007 10:33 PM

I love soccer. However i mostly follow the european leagues.

Tyr 12-29-2007 10:33 PM
Does anyone seriously like watching golf? I mean come one.
Compared to American football or baseball, I do.

Daven 12-29-2007 10:34 PM

Baseball is boring as ****.

The Door Mouse 12-29-2007 10:35 PM

Soccer is so not accessible in America.

As for baseball I mostly just watch it because it takes alot of strategy.

Kage 12-29-2007 10:35 PM

Everyone shut up. You like what you grew up with, no one is any lesser for liking different sports and "American" sports are no worse than any sport foreigners play. These conversations are so stupid.

Shattered_Future 12-29-2007 10:36 PM

Baseball is hella boring on TV. It's fun to actually watch though.

It's also fun to watch the Yankees choke when you're watching on TV with a bunch of Yankees fans.

Kage is just jealous cause sports don't have anything to do with Toby Driver. Poor Kage...:(

Deth 12-29-2007 10:36 PM

Baseball strategy usually involves something like "go hit a home run" or "don't let him hit a home run".

Nostalgia 12-29-2007 10:37 PM

Crabby dudes tonight.

The Door Mouse 12-29-2007 10:38 PM

Not at all tbh.

EDIT: @ Deth

Valhall 12-29-2007 10:38 PM
Baseball strategy usually involves something like "go hit a home run" or "don't let him hit a home run".
I'm sorry, but you are seriously misinformed.

negrodamus 12-29-2007 10:39 PM
Everyone shut up. You like what you grew up with, no one is any lesser for liking different sports and "American" sports are no worse than any sport foreigners play. These conversations are so stupid.
What would you like to talk about?

Your feelings?

Deth 12-29-2007 10:39 PM

 I was joking guys.

But seriously, boil everything down and it's "go and score" or "don't let them score".

Nostalgia 12-29-2007 10:39 PM
