No :)
Agreed :)

thickasabrick 01-28-2005 11:45 PM

Bryan Adams never really appealed to me. He's got a couple songs that I will listen to, some are catchy, but I don't think I would ever stick in one of his cds, when there are other (most likely better) cd's around.

I like Jack and Diane, and Summer of 69. I'm fairly sure they are by him, although I always get him confused with a few different artists.

MalcolmYoungRock 01-28-2005 11:45 PM

You forgot Neil Young with the Canadian list.

Or was that "the guy with the harmonica"

Rep Update: I've got 903! I'm almost popular!

jpj 01-28-2005 11:45 PM

Yea, that's him. Bryan Adams that is.

And I'm pretty sure that was Neil Young.

MalcolmYoungRock 01-28-2005 11:47 PM

Ah, m'kay.

Speaking of Neil Young, I got "Shakey" a biography of him.

Should I return it or is it any good?

thickasabrick 01-28-2005 11:50 PM

How in the world could anyone refer to Neil Young as 'the guy with the harmonica'??
That's like saying Paul Mcartney is 'the guy with the bass.' Theres no way to tell who you are talking about.

But yea, Neil Young is probably my favourite Canadian artist.

edit- and quickly read the bio to see if it's good, then return it if it's bad. It's a win win situation, but you better have a lot of time on your hands.

BludgeonySteve 01-28-2005 11:53 PM

Pfft. no. Tom Cochrane plays a mean harmonica, I meant him. I just didn't want to speak god's name because the man you are all reffering to is indeed god.

PinkFreud 01-28-2005 11:53 PM

sorry to disrupt the canadian discussion but i just got george harrisons brainwashed and am really digging it. anyone else like it? nad back to canadian musicians, i dont really like how rush are canadas ambassadors of music but its probably only because i dont like rush, and by rush, i mean geddy lees voice. but yeah, neil young rocks.

Actually, I needed a biography for a report...

I do like Tom Cochrane. Anyone here listen to David Wilcox? I don't think he's Canadian, so this is irrelevent to the conversation...but he can play a decent guitar in some of his songs. I like Do the Bearcat, and Hypnotizing Boogie.

I have it and love it. :)

lunch998 01-29-2005 12:08 AM

Rep Malcom. I have given out too much, so I can't do it.

thickasabrick 01-29-2005 12:14 AM

I repped you as well Malcom, those stars should appear any time now. Any Classic Rock regs not have stars yet?

MalcolmYoungRock 01-29-2005 12:31 AM

1135 rep points? Do i get stars now?

thickasabrick 01-29-2005 12:32 AM

I think you have to wait...or maybe just sign out then come back in or something. Not sure exactly how it works. Don't worry though, soon enough they will be there. It took me a while to even notice when I got mine, they just appeared when I came on one day.

Illmatic 01-29-2005 12:34 AM

They're like magic.

BludgeonySteve 01-29-2005 12:35 AM
1135 rep points? Do i get stars now?
Yes. It takes time.

Now how 'bouts some reppseys for good ol' rock not roll? I put you over the top and then some.

/shameless

edit: classic rock is great.

MalcolmYoungRock 01-29-2005 12:36 AM

You must spread reputation around before giving it to rock not roll again.

It says that for EVERYONE.

Plus, I already repped you today.

Edit: Staying on Topic, I <3 Classic Rock

Illmatic 01-29-2005 12:37 AM

Rep you?

You're lucky I don't beat you, son.

GilmourGuy2 01-29-2005 12:46 AM

Classic Rock, probably the only good kind of rock (well, plus oldies)...that is IMO of course...

MalcolmYoungRock 01-29-2005 12:48 AM

HOLY SHIT I HAVE STARS!! MY LIFE HAS A MEANING

Seafroggys 01-29-2005 12:52 AM

Sad....870 points.....I'm gonna cry now.....

How many points do you get per rep?

GilmourGuy2 01-29-2005 12:56 AM

Yes Mal, you have stars. Go celebrate! Quick, to our uber lunar lounge where we will celebrate with Hendrix and the King!

MalcolmYoungRock 01-29-2005 01:01 AM
Yes Mal, you have stars. Go celebrate! Quick, to our uber lunar lounge where we will celebrate with Hendrix and the King!
The Lizard King or Elvis?

GilmourGuy2 01-29-2005 01:08 AM

Oh, good point. I would have to go with Elvis, as he is officially known as just the king, if I were refering to the Lizard King I would have said his name by his true name...
How many people agree with me on this: New age music has given rock and roll a bad name!?

AEDICULA 01-29-2005 01:32 AM
I'm glad someone else here knows them. Twelce Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus is great too, my favorite after the s/t album.
i got that album at a garage sale for a buck, wild cherry too...

Badmoon 01-29-2005 08:26 AM
New age music has given rock and roll a bad name!?
Well, "New Age" is actually a genre, one that hols the likes of Michael Hedges. But I doubt you were talking about the genre. So no, there are plenty of good current bands/artists.
sorry to disrupt the canadian discussion but i just got george harrisons brainwashed and am really digging it. anyone else like it? nad back to canadian musicians, i dont really like how rush are canadas ambassadors of music but its probably only because i dont like rush, and by rush, i mean geddy lees voice. but yeah, neil young rocks.
That is an awesome album. I really dislike how Canadian here often have to try to prove their equal.

Listen to the song I posted on Pg 887.

To be a regular you have to be awesome, and have to post here a lot.

You can't get stars until you have 1000 posts and 1000 rep points.

jpj 01-29-2005 09:40 AM

Blues for Allah is such a kickass album, every song is amazing. Badmoon, who's the chick singing on The Music Never Stopped?
