Any of you get that feeling when your in a band that you just want to leave? :/
Cause Im a drummer in a band and not too fond of it main reasons being, they dont work as a team really and rely on me to do all the work which i hate, they do songs from like the 70's and 80's and i wanna play modern heavy music like disturbed and killswitch engage but have abit of metallica in, but they only like playing GnR an Led Zepplin and worst thing is they all do drugs which i really really hate.

Yeah, it was Gondor v. Gondor v. Gondor on a 4 player map. So I found the second castle first, massed my resources by taking out warg and troll hives, and once I had two castles and an outpost, total pwnage occurred.

As it stands, it would seem to be a nitterly ironic name, what with internal division and all.

This sounds like the kind of situation I would hate to find myself in. I would consider leaving, what with all the stuff stacked against you, and finding other people interested in the music you are wanting to play.

thanks for advice i meen band practice is what they call 20mins of doing naff all just 2 intros to 2 different songs then they go play computer games and im the only one left practicing, im the only serious member in the band. Im not very skilled but i have a proffessional drummer helping me hes played in a band called Witchfind and im hoping to get better then search for a band needing a drummer.

I hate trying to practice with unfocused bandmates. That is a serious problem.

If it were me, I'd probably tell the guys to get serious or get going. The last time my group had a bad practice like that, they heard about it. They've been a lot more focused since then. But if your friends are being impossible, it might be a good idea to quit.

Are you still in high school? Because I find that once you get to college, you meet all these great people with the same kinds of interests as you, and band member relationships start to blossom. Many bands that are successful actually met in college (Coldplay, Keane, Radiohead got serious in college, Hootie and The Blowfish - they actually put out the biggest selling debut album of all time), and many formed after college (Dave Matthews Band, umm... tons more) High school bands are mostly for being with friends and getting the hang of the band dynamic, as well as lots of practice. So, I wish you the best, and I hope it works out alright.

Dont forget Radiohead. Proof that if you got to Oxford/Cambridge that you still may have a life in music

I think I have band practise with the guys I did my Music Tech arrangement with (we did a short n sweet version of NIB), its great because we all like different music so the sound should be interesting.
