well, i cannot compare the l85a2 to anything else since it's all i've fired, but i find it generally reliable though a bit heavy, and a pain in the arse to clean. shootingwise it's comfortable and easy to get in a firm position, but the cocking handle is on the right so it's awkward to cock. sometimes the gas parts don't function properly and a new round isn't loaded properly into the chamber so when you're on the ranges you can end up having to recock the weapon.

the one weapon everyone hates is the l86a2 - light support weapon. 2kg heavier with a slightly longer range, it just makes life miserable if you have to trudge around with that all day. the tripod has a horrible tendency to collapse when you don't want it and is awkward to put away when you want

Yeah you have the HK re-done version though. If you had the ones before you'd probably want to throw it in a river it had so many problems. I shot it once and it was pretty decent.


they should just get rid of the light support version and give them more MINIMIs

i dont think anyone bothers to deploy with the LSW, they give us the LSW to use because it's essentially the same weapon so they don't have to train us on the drills for both weapons. i mean, it's even got a sodding 30 round mag, fucking shit
