If you've never been to a rap show before, they usually play out like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5t_GIRJ1_2k
I should just go in blackface like in Tropic Thunder. They won't be able to tell.
Rock the Bells brings out a pretty white crowd.
Interviewing Dean and Britta next Friday :D
The National were really good last night. They played a ton of songs and it was even better than the recordings. More jamming/cacophonous, thundering finishes.
Grizzly Bear on Tuesday, dass wussup. |
Mmm the national are pretty incredible live.
i'm seeing Richard Youngs on Thursday :)
can't wait. |
Oh god. I can't wait for Grizzly Bear. Here We Go Magic is opening and they're also really, really cool. Anyone seen this tour yet?
Nope but I've heard Here We Go Magic and they're quality. You're in for a good show either way.
Hell yeah. It's only 18 bucks too. I'm glad they're not with Wilco because I'd have to pay three times as much and sit through the Wilco songs that I find boring.
i saw the national last week, they were great. grizzly bear's coming here tomorrow but it's sold out. probably seeing Meat Puppets in June and then Sonic Youth and Harvey Milk in July though
Just go to the venue and find a scalper. Me and one of my friends paid $34.50 with ticketmaster bullshit fees for The National. The other friend's order got messed up and he was stuck without a ticket. We drove there, he hops out, and within 5 minutes he had a ticket for $20. I was kind of upset about paying so much for mine. I'm going to employ that strategy at Grizzly Bear because the same friend who bought one in advance with me last time already has one and it shouldn't be too tough to find a single ticket.
hmmmm. . . that doesn't sound like too bad of an idea. I may try that when griz bear comes to austin soon. Craigslist is ridiculous.
can you change your name on these forums? i can't believe how cheesy this one is, although i guess i was 15 when i made it.
You've gotta ask one of the admin people or supermods or something. I did it before. Get on AIM and talk to "AimPeer." It's one of the dudes here and he did it for me.

I saw Grizzly Bear at Sasquatch. Pretty sweet. They played in Vancouver the next day and it was probably better.
oh hey i was at sasquatch too
mike watt, explosions in the sky and monotonix/king kahn were probably my favorite sets. |
Monotonix are fun live.
i bored :upset:
wack off
Went to a free show Sunday night (Parlovr, The Darcys and some local band opened), my friend and I were the only two people in the crowd who weren't in a band.
Grizzly Bear and Here We Go Magic slayed. The one chick with a 'V' name from Beach House came out and sang with Grizz during "Two Weeks." The girls in HWGM were hot. It was a good night.
im regretting not going on monday, i'm sure they'll be back some time though so I'm not too upset.
I wanna see Meat Puppets but it is 21+ of course.
