If you've never been to a rap show before, they usually play out like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5t_GIRJ1_2k

Glitterati 05-28-2009 04:20 AM

I should just go in blackface like in Tropic Thunder. They won't be able to tell.

ATM 05-28-2009 09:08 AM

Rock the Bells brings out a pretty white crowd.

ATM 05-28-2009 09:37 AM

Interviewing Dean and Britta next Friday :D

Liebensaft 05-31-2009 12:43 AM

The National were really good last night. They played a ton of songs and it was even better than the recordings. More jamming/cacophonous, thundering finishes.

Grizzly Bear on Tuesday, dass wussup.

YourBiggestFan 05-31-2009 10:31 AM

Mmm the national are pretty incredible live.

Bukowski 05-31-2009 02:02 PM

i'm seeing Richard Youngs on Thursday :)

can't wait.

Liebensaft 05-31-2009 03:17 PM

Oh god. I can't wait for Grizzly Bear. Here We Go Magic is opening and they're also really, really cool. Anyone seen this tour yet?

Wanker 05-31-2009 03:24 PM

Nope but I've heard Here We Go Magic and they're quality. You're in for a good show either way.

Liebensaft 05-31-2009 03:44 PM

Hell yeah. It's only 18 bucks too. I'm glad they're not with Wilco because I'd have to pay three times as much and sit through the Wilco songs that I find boring.

Time 05-31-2009 05:39 PM

i saw the national last week, they were great. grizzly bear's coming here tomorrow but it's sold out. probably seeing Meat Puppets in June and then Sonic Youth and Harvey Milk in July though

Liebensaft 05-31-2009 07:01 PM

Just go to the venue and find a scalper. Me and one of my friends paid $34.50 with ticketmaster bullshit fees for The National. The other friend's order got messed up and he was stuck without a ticket. We drove there, he hops out, and within 5 minutes he had a ticket for $20. I was kind of upset about paying so much for mine. I'm going to employ that strategy at Grizzly Bear because the same friend who bought one in advance with me last time already has one and it shouldn't be too tough to find a single ticket.

YourBiggestFan 05-31-2009 07:25 PM

hmmmm. . . that doesn't sound like too bad of an idea. I may try that when griz bear comes to austin soon. Craigslist is ridiculous.

Bukowski 05-31-2009 11:31 PM

can you change your name on these forums? i can't believe how cheesy this one is, although i guess i was 15 when i made it.

Liebensaft 06-01-2009 12:10 AM

You've gotta ask one of the admin people or supermods or something. I did it before. Get on AIM and talk to "AimPeer." It's one of the dudes here and he did it for me.

Isaac Butt 06-01-2009 09:52 PM

pikester 06-02-2009 12:25 AM

I saw Grizzly Bear at Sasquatch. Pretty sweet. They played in Vancouver the next day and it was probably better.

Jacaranda 06-02-2009 09:34 AM

oh hey i was at sasquatch too
mike watt, explosions in the sky and monotonix/king kahn were probably my favorite sets.

Anxious 06-02-2009 01:45 PM

Monotonix are fun live.

FattyKnee 06-02-2009 02:57 PM

kitsch 06-02-2009 03:51 PM

wack off

Happymeal 06-02-2009 07:07 PM

Went to a free show Sunday night (Parlovr, The Darcys and some local band opened), my friend and I were the only two people in the crowd who weren't in a band.

Liebensaft 06-03-2009 01:32 AM

Grizzly Bear and Here We Go Magic slayed. The one chick with a 'V' name from Beach House came out and sang with Grizz during "Two Weeks." The girls in HWGM were hot. It was a good night.

Time 06-03-2009 07:42 PM

im regretting not going on monday, i'm sure they'll be back some time though so I'm not too upset.

SgtPrimus 06-03-2009 07:48 PM

I wanna see Meat Puppets but it is 21+ of course.
