Coachwhips are pretty nice.
Coachwhips is really popular among friends of mine (I know kids that are really into Jon Dwyer stuff in general, Pink & Brown and OCS/OhSees too). I just recently caught on, and I really like these bands.

Haha, I guess it could be worse though...

sexymuffin 08-12-2007 10:06 PM

hahaha true

YDload 08-12-2007 10:07 PM

no i think RHCP is worse than the Flock of Seagulls because they didnt vanish after the 80s were over

Glitterati 08-12-2007 10:10 PM

A Flock Of Seagulls are good for ironic '80s pop appreciation parties.

RHCP however are just like a bad itch that won't go away.

Nothing is "good" about "ironic '80s pop appreciation parties."

appreciating anything because it's ironic if you do is probably the epitome of being a faggot

Jacaranda 08-13-2007 12:45 AM

Ya their self titled album from what I hear is pretty solid.
To each his own. RHCP blow fags nuts though.

sexymuffin 08-13-2007 01:51 AM

agreed

<3<3<3 08-13-2007 02:09 AM

wait, since when do people not like rhcp?
They're pretty cool and make some sweet tunes.

Anyway, I've been on an Album Leaf phase for this past week.

sexymuffin 08-13-2007 02:11 AM

album leaf is okay, but i've never been too interested in anything they've come up with

like it's not bad, but it's not good either

they're both great...my family disagree though, I was playing Entertainment in the car cd player a few days ago and let's just say it wasn't received well. My dad loves The Clash so I thought maybe he'd like this a little. I was wrong. Never believe in diehard Clash fans. The rest of the family wanted the radio back on, too. Meh.

Boredoms - Super AE
The Modern Lovers - s/t

The Clash might are pretty normal compared to Gang of Four. I think exposure to Captain Beefheart daily would cure that though.

lol yeah...playing Trout Mask Replica would get some funny reactions I'd imagine. Followed by a nice dose of Sun City Girls :)

Dead Meadow - Shivering King & Others

this is so nice and mellow. It drags a little though, it shouldn't last an hour. I should hopefully be seeing them tomorrow.

Eccentric Soul: Mighty Mike Lenaburg
Art Bears - Hopes and Fears
Lee Hazlewood - Cowboy In Sweden

Art Bears is a cool name for a band. So is Henry Cow. But I haven't heard any Henry Cow. The Mighty Mike Lenaburg is one of the better Eccentric Soul comps I've heard so far. And Lee Hazlewood is yo.

Also, I've been raiding http://majorbonobo.blogspot.com for stuff. Gonna listen to some Y Pants later.

Mae Shi is cool but I just found out I'm missing a few tracks.

The Durutti Column- Bread and Circuses

Melancholic guitar pieces with a post-punk/experimental vibe. i don't know why I haven't listened to them before, this is right up my alley. Espers does a perfect cover of "Tomorrow Never Comes" which I heard in the reverse order.
