Some reverb would really add to the vocals, I think. I'd like to hear more of this when you have like a demo recorded.

Anyone into Tsjuder? Their album Desert Northern Hell is awesome. The vocals are great as well as the riffs. Its pretty damn heavy for black metal. Give 'em a listen and see what you think. I never really liked Emperor, btw. That kind of melodic black metal always seems to come back to the same kind of melodies and eventually winds up being a little too predictable at times.

I like the one I wrote tonight more, it's got a kind of black metal meets Envy-ish vibe to it, and the one riff is kind of like a Thursday breakdown but tremolo picked. Erik and I are probably recording it tomorrow. It's gonna be called "The Glories Of A Freer Youth."

Also, has anyone heard Grey Waters? It's not really black metal, but it features members from Austere and another band. The vocals are super homo, but the CD [I]Below The Eversetting Sun[/I] has some really good moments.
