It's been about two weeks sense I listened to them.
I joined every mailing list in the R&M Thread and I've
been busy with all that material

metalmilitia101 10-18-2005 05:32 PM

Cool, what's it about?

P.S. I'm always listening to Metallica  ... Or Megadeth ... Or Dream Theater, oh hell, I'm ALWAYS listening to something!

Dude3 10-18-2005 08:21 PM

I haven't listened to Metallica in a LONG time. I think I need to pull out '...and Justice For All' some time soon. That album seems to get much less talk, but I'd have to say its my favorite of theirs.

It's about his style every thing about how he plays.
It has some riffs and solo's in it. A couple of interviews.
Just neat little things like that.

I'm listening to music even when there isn't any playing.

I think I'm gonna go insane if I get van halen's jump stuck in my head one more time.

Britton 10-18-2005 08:48 PM

I love EVH But god...get rid of that annoying
eighties piano/synth.

playguitar 10-18-2005 09:38 PM

Metallica is playing a couple shows with the stones. Kind of weird. I would go if it didn't cost an arm and a leg to get a decent seat.

yeah you have a good point there. whenever people think of metallica's best album they are like 'oh mop of course' but thats just stereotypical. i think ajfa is their best. it has great structure, awesome solos, great drum patterns, and the vox rule.
I love EVH But god...get rid of that annoying

man i agree. synth is a BITCHHH!!!! i love it

PepsiMetal 10-18-2005 09:44 PM

I've listened to metallica too much also, now im kinda going towards power metal and bls. Metallica still kicks ass and I listen to them once in a while.

But seriously people bash kirk like he actually sucks. He is a pretty good guitarist. It's like everyone jumping on a bandwagon. Zakk wylde was also great, now people are hating him because of his use of pinch harmonics, and kirk for wah. Seriously, they love doing their stuff, it's their style. It's not like there is actually some law that prohibits guitarists from doing too much of something. etc..

But yea, every band gets boring when you listen to it too much. Im listening to hammerfall now 24/7 and they'll probably get boring in a week or so. :upset: I'll just move on again.

ozzfest05 10-18-2005 10:16 PM

any one ever hear that metallica is a sell out.

Ozzfest rocked balls until Sharon forgot to die.

metalmilitia101 10-19-2005 08:00 AM

*sigh* she always does that

kadafreak666 10-19-2005 09:39 AM

isnt there an official thread already?

if youre sick of the metallica threads keep bumping the old one..

Chu 10-19-2005 09:42 AM

Ok, sort of good news!
Two things: Unfortunately Slapping Penguin had prior commitments last weekend, so we never got an oppurtunity to jam, however, this week, as an apology present, he will be bringing along a mate who plays bass, and is eager to join a band.
IF we manage to get a recording down, I will definately post it here as it will be the first recording we have as a 4 piece band (Re: Full band, we don't have a bassist as of yet, although we initially hired Slapping Penguin as a bassist  He later showed me his Guitar Skillz!), and most probably our best recording to-date :D

P.S. We'll either be recording Master of Puppets (Should I help with the middle solo? :p), or our version of For Whom The Bell Tolls (It's a bit different, the drums are changed around a fair bit, and it is a solo fest, although all very similar penatonic wanks), with a recording I will also post a lineup, not that anyone cares, but meh, I'm getting kind of excited. :p

kadafreak666 10-19-2005 09:45 AM

man

haha

everybodys band covers a metallica song

lol

well not EVERYbody.. but a lot

Chu 10-19-2005 09:55 AM

Yeah, I've been a fan of Metallica for a very long time (Maybe 7 years), but I never really wanted to play music, until about a year ago when my brother was like "Hey, let's start a band!", so I bought myself a guitar, realised I couldn't play it, and put it away for a while, then one day I got it out and just started playing it, and haven't really put it down since! About 4/5 months ago my brother got a drum kit, and we started learning a few songs (Metallica songs :p), then early last month Slapping Penguin from MX sends me an email asking if I wanted to start a band (Yeah I met him at MX, spooky aye), so I was like "Well I'm already in a *Cough* Band *Cough*, but you can come along and jam!", and he was 'hired' as a Bassist  But then he WOWed me with his amazing One tapping solo and recording of Demon of the Fall, and I couldn't let his talent be wasted on a bass...
Then he tells me today he's possibly found us a Bassist  Which is just Fucken sick!
Although, we still lack a vocalist, unless I can learn to growl...

Cliffmeister 10-19-2005 10:04 AM

Grrrrrrrr

metalmilitia101 10-19-2005 11:02 AM

james' vocals are very hard to replicate. thats why most of the time when my band covers metallica songs we do an instrumental medley...its a pretty cool concept as well.

Good for you man!!!!

I've been trying to find a band for quite a while now and I think I might have a second guitarist and a drummer but I'm not quite sure yet. I'll keep you guys posted on that.

You guys should do something crazy like Whiplash or Four Horsemen.

Britton 10-19-2005 01:06 PM

Wow Chu I'm so happy for you!

I've got a band too We have such a wide variety of music. we need
a bassist and a singer (I want a bassist that can sing)

The lead player love GNR
I love evrything.
The drummer loves all types of punk.

So we have blues metal classical semi country Punk

I love Music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

Chu 10-19-2005 01:13 PM

Hey, great minds think alike, I want a funky bassist who can sing!
I'm good friends with a guy who has an awesome voice, and used to play bass, he was going to join our band, but too lazy to start playing bass again :(

Yeah it's 5:13am, I'm doing another ALL Guitar night :D

Britton 10-19-2005 01:19 PM

Sweet its 2pm here. I had one of those nights last night

Search my threads and tell me what you think about my amp. Please

Chu 10-19-2005 01:22 PM

Sure, but remember, I don't know a lot about guitar hardware...

Britton 10-19-2005 01:25 PM

Oh Okay

That's cool. It's a funny amp right?

Chu 10-19-2005 01:25 PM

I need a new guitar :(

Britton 10-19-2005 01:27 PM

HaHa

what are you playing?

lightningmetal666 10-19-2005 01:27 PM

The amp is cool but I don't see it as being an amp for metal. More like a blues or 70's rock kinda amp. Looks like it was brand new in the 70's :P.

Hey it could be vintage. Try getting it appraised.

Britton 10-19-2005 01:28 PM

Yea I know a really good guitar guy I'm about to call and ask him.

It has amazing classic rock tone...just not Metal

Exactly what i thought. That's ok though, I'd hang on to it and play it when I've gotta do stuff like Led Zepplin or Rob Dilinger (sp?) type stuff (Rob Dilinger is the guy that did Rock 'n' Roll Hoochie Koo)

(BTW Britton, did you get my email? I don't usually do attachment so I don't know if it worked or not.)

Jev 10-19-2005 01:35 PM

:-/ I wanna play Metallica to the old people at the care home that I'm working at for the week but I'm getting progressively iller as the week goes on and I don't think i can make it through a song without snotting :(

Britton 10-19-2005 01:36 PM

Yea I know who he is. I love his work.

It's reall nice for BTO and CCR

But lets face it I play metal...I need a metal amp...or at least something
with some more versatilty

Hey seriously half of them are deaf, they just enjoy the company and I can play whatever I feel like.
I was chatting to a WWII vet today. He was telling me how he killed people.

Britton 10-19-2005 01:39 PM

I played metal in a nursing home. I did MOP

I don't think they could hear it very well though

Doing quizzes for them is murder. I have to ask the same question at least 10 times.
