Good lord.

Jaundice 07-02-2010 09:25 AM

he seems a shockingly cool guy for being involved in the neofolk/industrial scene

would have assumed everyone involved in those type of circles was a jesus freak *** hole

RetiredAt21 07-02-2010 09:27 AM

Why would you assume they are jesus freaks?

Jaundice 07-02-2010 09:30 AM

Idk, I've always strongly associated any type of alternative or rebellious art with overly conservative jackasses

its one of those preconceived notions i have a hard time looking past

RetiredAt21 07-02-2010 09:32 AM

Most of these people look like liberal pansies to me.

Meatplow 07-02-2010 09:40 AM

more like fascist and neo-paganist pansies

but we return to David Tibet in a swimming pool so I think there is a good sense of humour here in between smelling their own farts

RetiredAt21 07-02-2010 09:52 AM

I like Pig Heart Transplant and Harry Pussy are pretty noisey I guess.

Jaundice 07-02-2010 09:54 AM

ur mom

Meatplow 07-05-2010 10:53 AM

anyone heard Serena Maneesh?

Abyss In B Minor isn't bad, sort of a shoegaze/electronic/industrial mix

Meatplow 07-07-2010 10:00 AM

Squarepusher's Ultravisitor is pretty good on second listen. Some parts seem kind of sloppy but I envy the sounds this guy can make sometimes

Txus 07-07-2010 11:13 AM

He is a beast playing bass.

Meatplow 07-07-2010 11:15 AM

yeah I love that part where he has that squelching effect mirroring his playing

I didn't like his solo bass album much, I just find that kind of thing boring

Txus 07-07-2010 11:22 AM

Yeah, I've heard the same thing from a couple of friends. I liked his solo album quite a bit but I guess that's because I'm a bass player.

I've been listening to lots of Thomas Köner lately, that guy is so good.

Meatplow 07-08-2010 07:51 AM

the militaristic percussion at the end of L'Age d'Or is pretty martial industrial, Alex

Jaundice 07-08-2010 07:52 AM

It really is. The first time I watched it I felt almost like it was put there specifically to blow my mind.

Jaundice 07-08-2010 07:59 AM

Like, it amazed that in the 1930's someone would actually think of something as avant garde and ahead of its time as having strong militant rhythms like that synchronized with an allusion to a Marquis De Sade novel that was in very limited publication until years later

Oh and you really need to read 120 days of sodom, i know you've seen the movie and all but the movie is a total contradiction the whole theme the book was trying to convey

In fact you should pretty much just do nothing but read books at my command since everything you end up reading was inspired by me :p

Meatplow 07-08-2010 08:06 AM

everything? thats a stretch

i've been meaning to check it out though, I may just order a copy next time I get a $40 tip at work
