no, because it still holds true no matter what you listen to when your old.
I just thought of the absolutely perfect Against Me! tattoo.

"If It doesn't matter now, than it never really did."

From The Politics of Starving.

Not only because it's an awesome Against Me! song/lyric, but because even if you don't like Against Me! when your older, it still has lots of relevance.
If you're gonna get that tattooed, make sure it says 'THEN it never really did'

You don't want to have a grammar error on your body forever.

Cliche 09-05-2007 06:16 AM

Yeah, my bad.

But yeah, I wouldn't get it on me anyways. I don't like tattoos.

So I just got this for the Against Me! video I uploaded:

Thank you very much, Cliche.

Gnarmageddon 09-08-2007 07:30 AM

Seeing AM! tomorrow night with Matt Dondero. It's going to be f'ucking good.

Also, speaking of tattoos, I've decided I am going to get the D. Boon and Watt faces from Buzz or Howl on my legs or arms. Haven't decided yet.

tom79 09-08-2007 07:51 AM

You mean David Dondero. When he started playing yesterday not a lot of people were there yet, and he broke his string on the first song, but he was good. I should get one of his albums sometime. Shoulda bought one there...

Do you know anything about the October 1st show in Toronto?

tom79 09-08-2007 12:49 PM
Do you know anything about the October 1st show in Toronto.
I've read it's 20 bucks at The Guvernment

http://www.hob.com/tickets/eventdetail.asp?eventid=48174

I'd like to go see them again.

SkaRobotArmy 09-08-2007 01:21 PM

i'd pay $20. are they on sale already?

tom79 09-08-2007 01:55 PM

Ticketmaster

Cliche 09-08-2007 02:21 PM

Yeah, They went on sale on the 25th, and I ordered my tickets first day.

It's just that they haven't put the show on their site, or their Myspace. So I don't quite know what to think.

Yeah, they're playing tonight, too.

holy_roller99 09-09-2007 11:21 PM

i saw a couple months ago. awesome show. would kill to see them again.

Gnarmageddon 09-10-2007 05:16 AM

Oh my god. Last night was so amazing. David Dondero put me to sleep, Matt and Kim were like The Epoxies and Atom and His Package put together, and AM! tore it up so hard. I figured they would just play Thrash Unreal like 53 times in a row, but they had a really good mix of older and newer stuff. It was the first show I've been to where everyone yelling and singing along was louder than the music being played.

I've heard that the played Impact! the night before last, did you get anything sweet like that?

Henrik 09-10-2007 08:30 AM

Damn Impact must be sweet to see live. Or Shit Stroll just to say that you've heard it live and plus it's an awesome song.

Have they ever played Y'all Don't Wanna Step To Dis live?

Brewing Up With 09-10-2007 09:05 AM

The oldest song I've seen them play live was Tonight We're Gonna Give It 35% at the Triplerock in Minneapolis. Everyone went f'ucking crazy when they started playing that as an encore. That was easily the best show I've ever been to because Tom was actually screaming instead of singing with a deep raspy voice that he's been doing a lot lately.

I'm going to see them in October I think. I'm on a foreign study abroad program in Austria now and thought that I wouldn't get to see any of the bands I like that were going on fall tours. Against Me! are coming to Vienna in October, so I'm pretty pumped. Hopefully I can go.

SkaRobotArmy 09-10-2007 09:35 AM

thats sick, is TO sold out yet?
also, theres a ton of awesome music in austria\germany touring right now you should look into it.

tom79 09-10-2007 11:05 AM

They played What We Worked For as the first song of the encore on the 7th and that was awesome.

I hope the TO show isn't sold out yet. I bought my tickets at the door in Buffalo and they said they had tons left, though there will probably be more people in Toronto.

Henrik 09-10-2007 11:49 AM

I just got the "We are Never Going Home" dvd a couple of weeks ago and the Shot Stroll live version on there sounds freaking awesome!

Really? You are aware that RAR is older than The Disco Before The Breakdown ep right?

AndreTheHyena 09-10-2007 12:38 PM

I saw them play an acoustic set at Vintage Vinyl a few years back, and they played a song from Crime, but I can't recall which.

Well s'hit, I'm totally wrong then. I thought The Disco Before The Breakdown was a year older or so...It's still a song they don't play very often at least...

My logic was very very off in that post about the oldest song I've seen... I realised that RAR, Those anarcho Punks, Walking is still honest, and I Still Love You Julie are all on the Acoustic EP or Crime EP. Tonight We're Gonna Give It 35% is just a great song that they don't play very often and that just popped into my head when I wrote before.

Flagjacket 09-10-2007 03:57 PM

thank god against Me Songs between RAR and ATEC are still good.

when i went to see them they played **** stroll. it sucks though cause i didnt know the song:angry:, not many other people did either.

Brain Toad 09-10-2007 06:14 PM

I listened to New Wave and was very bored. I liked most of SFAFC as a general rock album and Holy **** is one of my top AM! songs, so I don't have an aversion to their new stuff. But New Wave was just full of the same things as before. More lyrics about selling out, really bad attempts at humor/irony or whatever the hell White People for Peace was supposed to be. The actual music was alright, but the lyrics were crap all the way through.

Unfortunately, no. They played just about everything from RAR, though. They were on for an hour.

Maybe? I really can't remember. I'd like to think that they played "Impact", though.
