I'm having a listen to the song now.

Edit: and it didn't sound anything like RTL.

oh ok thanks

Chu 05-01-2005 04:07 PM

Ok easiest Megadeth riffs on guitar?
I'd say Peace Sells, I think it may be the spider technique, but I don't really know what that is, but yeah it's pretty easy, but effective riff in my opinion.

MAthiAS 05-01-2005 04:12 PM

Easiest Megadeth song? Sweating Bullets.

whatduffhuck7 05-01-2005 08:36 PM

i just learned looking down the cross today, not the easyist buy surly a easy song. maybe not to easy if your a real beginner. idk i love that song though.

Apocalyptic Raids 05-01-2005 09:11 PM

Thanks for the video, Metal Guitar.

Easiest Megadeth riff would probably be the verse and chorus riffs in Peace Sells.

Freezing Moon 05-01-2005 10:58 PM

Symphony of Destruction intro is probably the easiest.

ThrashMaster27 05-01-2005 11:02 PM

Intro riff to Symphony of Destruction. Easiest song to play solos and all is Mechanix for me, althoughs it's probably not the easiest. Hardest to play with all the solos is probably Holy Wars. Mind you, I haven't tried doing every Megadeth song on Guitar.... I've never attempted all the solos in Hangar 18.

Apocalyptic Raids 05-01-2005 11:05 PM

Okay, so we've done the easiest, so what would you guys consider the hardest riff/song?

I would say, for the whole song, Hanger 18. I think for riffs.... either Holy Wars or Rust in Peace... Polaris.

MAthiAS 05-01-2005 11:27 PM

Hardest solos, definitely Tornado of Souls and Hangar 18. Riffs, I haven't tried many, but I can play Holy Wars (with solos too, but not 100%) so I wouldn't say that.

Apocalyptic Raids 05-02-2005 04:02 AM

Hmm, I could probably nail Holy Wars riff wise if I really practised hard, but I can't be bothered. I've only been playing 2 years anyway.

ThrashMaster27 05-02-2005 04:06 AM

I always find the little solo interlude in Hook In Mouth to be tricky. I can do that tapping part piss easy, but the part before it I can't seem to get right. It's very annoying!

Mazeppa 05-02-2005 09:52 AM

For me (I've been playing a year) the hardest riffs are in Take No Prisoners, and I can play Holy Wars without solos.

VicRattlehead99 05-02-2005 10:24 AM

For me(I have been playing for about six months)intro beat of symphony of destruction.

VicRattlehead99 05-02-2005 11:08 AM

Hey does anyone know whatplace dave came in the guitarist poll?

Chu 05-02-2005 11:29 AM

3rd I think.

KittensInMicrowaves 05-02-2005 11:52 AM

the riff towards the end of Five Magics and the following solo is nothing short of insane. all hail dave mustaine, king of riffing :thumb:

VicRattlehead99 05-02-2005 01:37 PM

Yes it was third that sucks is there going to be another poll?

RustedPieces 05-02-2005 01:43 PM

Well I do like Dave and I do think he's a good guitarist but theres so many more deserving people on there.

MAthiAS 05-02-2005 01:49 PM
For me (I've been playing a year) the hardest riffs are in Take No Prisoners, and I can play Holy Wars without solos.
I really don't think Take No Prisoners is very hard. At first its got some tricky riffs, but with some practice its just a really fun song to play, its fast and the riffs are interesting, but I don't think its that hard.

Like who? Dave's one of the most important and influencial guitarists in metal, and technically he pwns any classic rock guitarist.

DisposableHeroes 05-02-2005 01:52 PM

Mathias, i must ask who that is in your avatar, it looks kinda like Jason Newsted.

I think i oughta learn the Skin 'O My Teeth solo

Huber 05-02-2005 01:52 PM

I think Dave is really good. He's also the most metal person I can think of.

MAthiAS 05-02-2005 01:59 PM
Mathias, i must ask who that is in your avatar, it looks kinda like Jason Newsted.
Nah, I'd never put a Metallica member in my avatar, its Michael Stipe back when he had hair.
I think Dave is really good. He's also the most metal person I can think of.
A-fucking-men. Musically I put him up there just under Chuck Schuldiner, and as far as his life goes, the man defines metal.

DisposableHeroes 05-02-2005 02:03 PM

Dave can be quite a funny guy too

Huber 05-02-2005 02:07 PM

I found this page of Dave quotes one time. They were a riot.

Six Foot Revolver 05-02-2005 02:08 PM

He has also got an amazing voice

Huber 05-02-2005 02:09 PM

Yep, pretty awesome guy that Dave Mustaine...

RustedPieces 05-02-2005 02:09 PM

Smart too. Writes good lyrics.

DisposableHeroes 05-02-2005 02:09 PM

What solos are his on RIP?

Mazeppa 05-02-2005 02:10 PM

The first half is ok I can play that, but then after Dave sings "Burn" it gets really difficult.
