sixteenth note triplets are effectively sextuplets because there's 6 of them in a beat, or so I always learned

no man. If you had 16th note triplets, that would be a triplet of 16ths, or 3 16th notes

its just like saying 1/8th triplets, but the note's duration is half as long

well, a 16th note is a 16th note, no matter how you group them.

the note itself, 16th note, never changes through out the song. Only the way its grouped man. You are making it way harder than it really is.

This dude is what I'd like to call GOOD.
I don't care if he doesn't sweep as fast as the pro's do, it's still so wonderfully smooth.
And yes, I know he doesn't play anything advanced harmonically speaking, but he's a great example of correct technique.
Not too shabby a tone either.
