Crime is so overrated, it's not even their best EP. The Acoustic EP and Disco Before the Breakdown are so much better. Anyway, if you started with Searching then get the albums in reverse order.
I agree with flagjacket. Eternal Cowboy is definitely their best. |
I don't particularly like Disco Before the Breakdown. I do prefer Acoustic to Crime but Crime has 4 amazing tracks (Y'all Don't Want to Step to Dis, What We Worked For, Impact and my favourite version of Walking is Still Honest). I prefer RAR to ATEC but it's a very close thing, I can see how you could prefer either.
|
I was really disappointed with RAR when I finally downloaded it. It was awesome, but nothing compared with Crime which I got a year or so before RAR and which blew me away. The versions of earlier songs on RAR aren't as good imo.
|
Walking is Still Honest is worse on RAR but I Still Love You Julie is better. Compared to the Acoustic EP it depends what mood I'm in for all of them.
|
I prefer the Crime version of I Still Love You Julie.
Also, I find the RAR version of Walking Is Still Honest barely listenable compared to the Crime version. |
I think Crime is their best release ever. I've been addicted to it for probably a month or two now. Then ATEC and then RAR.
I hate I Still Love You Julie and Walking Is Still Honest on Crime, but the four other tracks make up for it completely. Especially Yall Dont Wanna Step To Dis |
acoustic is still my favorite ep. eps are way to short and that annoys me.

They're pretty much unlistenable to me because they're just so......boring. They're much more heartfelt and powerful on RAR. |
I disagree with that on Walking is Still Honest. The RAR version fits better with RAR but the Crime version is incredible with just as much heart.
|
Listening to it, I Still Love You Julie is really boring on Crime. That's most likely why I don't really like it.
I don't skip a track generally out of respect for what Crime is. |

I'd say more heart. It's really annoying how AM! have so many different versions of some of their songs. |
I still love you Julie on crime = RAR Version
Walking Is Still Honest on Crime <<< RAR Version Jordans first Choice Acoustic >> RAR Version Those Anarcho punx are Mysterious Acoustic <<<< RAR Version Reinventing Axl Rose Acoustiv = RAR Version Pints og Guinness make you strong acoustic <or= RAR Version What makes Crime great instead of just good is Y'all Don't wanna step to dis and Burn. |

I think the RAR Jordan's 1st Choice is a million times better. The beginning vocals are crazy. |

Seriously, it doesn't even mean anything. Tom said in an interview that that's why he doesn't play it anymore, because he doesn't know what the hell he was talking about. I think he just made it up as he went along. http://www.myspace.com/wellinherittheearth against me!'s cover of bastards of young is posted. Sounds great, but nothing can touch the original. |
Burn is an awesome song.
Who cares if the lyrics are crap? |
Burn is totally awesomeness... I agree with the lyrics being weird, but otherwise it's great.

Against Me! wrote this on their site:
For all of you Euro festival fans out there AM! is headed your way this summer. They're playing Pukkelpop in Hasselt Belgium on August 19th, Reading Festival is Saturday August 26th and Leeds is Sunday August 27th. If you yourself can not afford to go ABROAD! to experience Against Me! live, you're in luck. "Americans Abroad!!! Against Me!!! Live in London!!!", which is obviously a live recording, is out now! There's a bunch of places out there right now to order it from. Allow me to cut and past from another news item...Of course there's FAT WRECK CHORDS, then you've got good time rock and roll buddies NO IDEA RECORDS, your INTERPUNK, your SMARTPUNK and old man AMAZON.COM. Did we tell you there's a new studio record coming in 2007? Because there is. Look for it on Sire Records. You can't hate on a label that not only brought you the Ramones but also the Replacements. You just can't. Oh hey, that live record is streaming right now over at AP! Check it out by CLICKING HERE |
I'll hate on whoever the **** I want when it comes to Against Me!.
assholes. |
I just hope the next album does not completely blow. I'm not expecting something amazing, I just want a decent album.
|
As long as it's equal to or greater than SFAFC, I'll continue to maintain some belief that they can turn it around.
|
sfafc is the one Against me album i have and i like it. wish i would have gotten on eof their others though
|
It's not so much that SFAFC is bad. It's just that their other albums were so great, that this seems so poor and generic in comparison. In reality, it's an alright album. Probably a band I wouldn't look into much though, if it was their first album.
|
The expectation was so high with SFAFC it was inevitable it wouldn't live up to it I think.
|
hey most punk bands were better in their early days. look at Bad Religion, AFI and the misfits. all awesome bands that were even beter in thier starting days when the creativity is fresh. on SFAFC the better songs are dont lose touch and the title track at the end.
|
Don't Lose Touch is HORRIBLE.
I'm sorry man but that song is horrible. |
Is the live album worth purchasing?
|
ehhhh, probably not. It doesn't do a very good job of capturing their live show. The new song is definitely worth downloading though.
|
Don't buy it. It's nice to listen to, but not worth $14. Just download.
|
The expectation was so high with SFAFC it was inevitable it wouldn't live up to it I think.
That's true, whereas the expectations for their next album are going to be pretty low. My expectations are pretty low anyhow. |
