Where are they on tour at the moment? I finally got my copy of 'everything goes numb' and I cant stop listening to it, why is MX right about everything?
they are doing a north american tour with reel big fish and mxpx in july and august.

Catchthe22 06-16-2006 01:47 AM

Checking out Reel Big Fish's live tracks from their album "Our Live Album Is Better Than Your Live Album", they sound better than ever live. http://www.myspace.com/thereelbigfish has some off their self released DVD/CD.

Kithkin 06-18-2006 01:46 PM

Reel Big Fish are only good live if both Scott and Aaron are there.

Otherwise they aren't funny and the backup vocals suck.

Can anybody confirm/deny this? I really really want to go to this. I really want to see RBF with Rancid too and I expected it at SF one date because it's Rancids hometown.

gastery6 06-18-2006 08:24 PM

I might see Streetlight next month in Toronto.

comptonassrobert 06-18-2006 10:52 PM

DAMMIT. The closest is San Diego and that's like 6 1/2 hours away =/

Joeeddstealschickens 06-19-2006 05:07 AM

I saw Strretlight Manifesto last November in a few months back, their horn section really impressed me.

They are playing Lancaster, CA July 7th. So instead of 6.5 hours that is like 3.5-4.5 hours?

comptonassrobert 06-20-2006 02:36 PM

Yea actually. I didn't even notice the Lancaster date. Thanks :)

ert90 07-06-2006 10:35 AM

Going to see Reel Big Fish with Streetlight tonight baby!! I'm kind of glad that MxPx is missing this show too, we'll only have skankers on board.

I'll try to post the set list for each band if I remember them.

Henrik 07-07-2006 03:35 AM

Set list please.... what was it like?

Jessizzle 07-07-2006 08:07 AM

Maaan Streetlight were sooo amazing. I couldnt even tell you the set list, I was GAH, dazzed i should say, sang alone to everyword thinking OMFG im seeing STREETLIGHT. I missed the first song or two, due to venue mixups, ( we went to the fun house on queen street, instead on the Kool haus, on queens quae which is like a 30 min run) anyways. They played a new song, it was soo good and thomas said " we plan on putting out an album in 2007, so that means 2009"

Catchthe22 07-07-2006 08:29 AM

hahah we can expect an album every 5 years.

ert90 07-07-2006 08:52 AM

The set in Grand Rapids was about this:

That'll Be The Day
Point/Counterpoint-Keasbey Nights Medley
A Moment Of Silence
New Song (Really good too)
Everything Went Numb
Here's To Life

The order to that may be a little messed up and they may have even done a new song to kick things off, I don't really remember though.

The show was fucking awesome as you'd expect. The only problem was that Streetlight didn't play for quite as long as I wanted them too. When introducing the new song Tomas said "this is on the new album, which will probably never come out." But after Streetlight, RBF took forever to get on stage but it was worth it. They played Take On Me, Good Thing, Ban The Tube Top, Sell Out, Brand New Song, Cheer Up, She Has A Girlfriend Now, Beer, Everything Sucks, S.R. and also a bunch of stuff I didn't recognize. But they're encore was great. The grand finale was their killer cover of Op Ivy's Unity. That was one of the best songs of the night.

Jessizzle 07-07-2006 09:33 AM

Did they cover metallica for you? that was sweet, RBF playing Enter sandman.

buttttttt I got to hangout with all of them by their tour trailer thing after the show so HMPH!!! :)

Danger Bird 07-10-2006 02:15 AM

I don't think I'll see streetlight if they come around. BotAR would be a different story.

Damn, that sucks. I'm probably going to the Anaheim House of Blues show...

...after I go to Disneyland. :D

Streetlight Manifesto has quickly turned into one of my favorite bands. Everything Goes Numb is one of the best albums in the past few years, hands down.

AIRIC 07-12-2006 07:48 PM

Does RBF still have a horn section?

comptonassrobert 07-13-2006 12:26 AM

I'm pretty sure that they dropped the horns, but I could be wrong. And I couldn't imagine a live show without them playing Sellout, which requires horns.

Catchthe22 07-13-2006 05:08 AM

wtf they still have a horn section. One trumpet, One trombone and one guy that does a few things including trumpet if he needs.

lynch_me 07-13-2006 01:36 PM
Does RBF still have a horn section?
Haha, yeah.

Twin Human Highway Flares 07-13-2006 09:25 PM

This is something I've been wondering about for a while now. What exactly is the plot of 'Kristina She Don't Know I Exist'? In the first verse, she doesn't know him, but then in the second, he "took her home so quietly", so it seems they're going out or something. But then in the chorus after the second verse he still says that she doesn't know he exists. I just don't get it.

Catchthe22 07-14-2006 06:47 AM

Good question. The way I look at the storyline is this way. It starts off with the guy just having a big crush on her, but never talking to her. And then in photography class, he discovers a "contact print" (A photographic print). He does not believe it and finds her staring back at him. This is where it hints that on that print there is something Kristina did to tell him she likes him. So he takes her home and a little instrumental comes. Now I infer they are dating. Next thing you know she dropped him for some guy. The chorus in the beginning is very 'you dont know I exist' ,but towards the end it evolves to 'you dont know what you missed'. I cant really explain the chorus after the taking home of Kristina. Except the chorus does come before the instrumental so maybe she still doesnt know him until that "instrumental of late night talks and holding hands".

asdf 07-14-2006 08:17 AM

I always thought that he merely took the contact print home.

ert90 07-14-2006 08:32 AM

Yea, he just took the print of her home. Pretty simple...
