I just noticed that at 4:25 through Delerium Trigger, the backup vocals sound like Ozzy.

Dead Star 10-09-2005 03:28 PM

Sup Mothertruckers?

Gnarmageddon 10-09-2005 03:28 PM

Wrong thread. :p

Untitled 10-09-2005 03:29 PM

Haha, i always click this thread thinking its the DT.

Dead Star 10-09-2005 03:32 PM

:upset:

So it is.

DepthsOfDreams555 10-09-2005 04:47 PM

Sometimes I do that then I notice that people are talking about Coheed and Cambria and don't post.

hey, you're not cory! 10-09-2005 07:04 PM
That will get them over exposed. By the way SSTB = IKS = GA
They are pretty much all equal. I mean, I can rate them if I need to, but for the most part I love them all equally.

DepthsOfDreams555 10-09-2005 07:10 PM

I love them all equally in their own way. They are like little children and I love them all equally but in their own way haha.

DJ Ducksauce 10-09-2005 07:18 PM

The only problem I have with GA is the over production and the fact that all of the songs are downtuned. I hate down tuning my guitar. For some reason I can't really listen to IKS that easy anymore.

hey, you're not cory! 10-09-2005 07:20 PM

It is a bit overproduced. Really the only thing that I dislike is too much overdubbing of Claudios vocals. Its good in "Ten Speed" but most of the time its just kind of unnecessary.

Ya I totally agree thats a thought I had, sometimes its cool but they do it in a lot of unneeded parts.

CombatWombat3 10-09-2005 07:29 PM

I do agree with you there, altough the overdubbing on The Suffering is sweet. I love it.

The Crowing 10-09-2005 07:59 PM

Man, I dont see why people dont like "over-production" in some cases, like in GA and Vheissu. I think it makes it sound THAT much more interesting.

Fish 10-09-2005 08:02 PM

im going to see CoCa november 9th, cant wait!

DJ Ducksauce 10-09-2005 08:21 PM

^^Lucky

I'm listening to all of IKS for the first time in a long time. I forgot how good it was.

Yeah, I forgot about that one for whatever reason. Its AMAZING in that song, actually.

I bought the CD today, the album art is quality

You forgot to mention how the actual album itself was "quality"

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 10-10-2005 09:43 AM

6 more days until Coheed and Cambria. I'm going with my friend and its going to kick as'ss.

Yeah, i already had it though, downloaded.

I still think it's a big disapointment compared to IKSOSE3, but i think it's a grower.

I think that it's really close to IKS. I like it a lot.

/shows off new avatar

Mute Print 10-10-2005 10:35 AM

Nice avatar.

I think IKSOSE3 is much better, but I haven't given the new album much of a chance yet.

Thanks.

GA is one of those albums that grows on you I think. SSTB was like that for me. IKS is one that I liked immediately. I don't know why. I still rate SSTB over the others though.

Punk_Rock_Zo 10-10-2005 11:05 AM

Hey, I searched this thread a little, and didn't see this anywhere else, so I figured I would provide it for everyone trying to decipher the new album. It's from an interview in Alternative Press with Claudio himself...
Keeping The Blade
"It's a collection of intros from both previous records, but put together--which can only mean the end."

Always And Never
"The Writer starts to lose his mind over the devastation of this love he's been seperated from. In the second verse, the Writer talks about her, and the influence on what is to come in the story."

Welcome Home
"The Writer has a vision. He sees himself in this disfigured form, and a woman bound next to a grave. And the woman says, 'Don't kill me, I loved you.' And he says 'What do you care? You left me this way. The only way my pain will end is in your suffering. Now get in the ground.' That's the scene in the video."

Ten Speed (Of God's Blood & Burial)
"Ten Speed is the Writer's subconscious, like the Son Of Sam dog. This is a dialogue, Ten Speed telling the Writer that he knows of a way to get out of his rut: all he needs to do is stop doing the story."

Crossing The Flame
"In Second Stage, the Writer wrote a love interest for the character (Claudio). Her name is Newo. 'Crossing The Flame' is the parallels between Newo and Erica Court, the Writer's love interest."

Apollo I: The Writing Writer
"This is where we meet the Writer and learn his motive. As the writer of this story, can he really be looked upon as a godlike figure to these characters?"

Once Upon Your Dead Body
"It's Ten Speed trying to get the Writer to kill off Claudio. And the Writer sees it as Ten Speed trying to talk him into killing his love interest. And the Writer is saying he's no murderer."

Wake Up
"It's a love song. You get a history of the Writer, that he'd have done anything for this person who went on to do this horrible thing to him."

The Suffering
"It's an extension of 'Wake Up.' It's a Queen-esque song, more like a play. It's the climax of the Writer losing it."

The Lying Lies & Dirty Secrets Of Miss Erica Court
"The Writer starts to realize that there's something else behind what Ten Speed is telling him: That no one will be following you when you end the story; everyone is going to die."

Mother May I
"Now, the Writer is realizing that he is the father of the story, and these are his children. The Character (Claudio) is losing it, and these papers are lined up in front of him, and on these papers in blood is 'God only knows.' And that's the answer to his questions."

The Willing Well I: Fuel For The Feeding End
"The Willing Well is where the two worlds collide. It goes back and forth between the characters in the graphic novel."

The Willing Well II: From Fear Through The Eyes Of Madness
"This is more from the Writer's perspective: He's become isolated from the world, and he finds a way out, which is to destroy the story."

The Willing Well III: Apollo II: The Telling Truth
"This is the full-on end, where the Character (Claudio) is coming to the Writer, and the Writer says to him, 'You are the one, I am your God.' And, 'In my presence, you will make sure the fiction meets its fate...All the worlds from here must burn.'"

The Willing Well IV: The Final Cut
"The Writer gets brought to this guillotine with wings, and at the guillotine is his love, Erica Court. And the blade comes down on the Character (Claudio? the Writer?, I'm a little confused here), but he does not die--he realizes what he has to do."

Bron Yr(the disc's hidden track type thing)
"Sometimes you watch a movie, and you get a lot emotionally. And at the end, there's this weird song over the credits. It's like that."

That was taken from the November 2005 Alternative Press. I found it interesting, yet still a little confusing. Claudio also states in the interview, that "Good Apollo, I'm burning star IV" pretty much is Claudio (the character) saying "I'm here to destroy everything"...hope you guys find this interesting and helpful

At first, I didn't like that track, but now it's one of my favorites. I love how they put the Time Consumer riff in there.

Yeah and the I-robot bit towards the end is cool too.

DJ Ducksauce 10-10-2005 11:28 AM

What ever happened to PFI? Was that just a one time thing, or is Claudio actually working on that?
Yeah and the I-robot bit towards the end is cool too.
Oh yeah. I forgot about that. I haven't listened to it in a while.
