Seafroggys 08-01-2005 09:52 PM

Oh crap its too late to call. I don't really want to tell my parents I need to use the phone for possibly 3 hours, so I'm trying to go around them using the phone and going online and stuff. My mom said she was going to go online at 8 to check up on something and then I was gonna call probably 8:30 but she got on late and it'll be after 9 'til she's done.

I'll try again tomorrow, but if I can't get her by then, I'll have to wait until I get back from vacation, which will be.....16th :(

Double Bass Jim 08-01-2005 09:55 PM

Looks like your screwed.

Half Life 08-01-2005 10:57 PM

That's to bad Seafroggys. I feel your pain :upset:

Plan B. 08-02-2005 12:38 AM

Don't worry, try again tomorrow and look forward to your vacation at the same time.

That's not screwed at all, that's quite possibly the best situation if you look at it positively.

Half Life 08-02-2005 12:42 AM

Hopefully you can get a hold of her. That way, if you guys hit it off on the phone and she wants to meet you, she'll have to wait till you get back  Always leave them wanting more. It's the best way to do it
if you look at it positively.
Im the master of negativity.

Half Life 08-02-2005 12:44 AM

^Haha, Jim you have NO IDEA. You can't get much more pessimistic than me

Josiah 08-02-2005 12:50 AM

When asked if the glass was half full or half empty Jim replied, "Somebodys going to die for drinking my water!!!"

Double Bass Jim 08-02-2005 12:51 AM

Hahahaha

Plan B. 08-02-2005 12:54 AM

Bwahahaha.

Seafroggys 08-02-2005 12:58 AM
Always leave them wanting more. It's the best way to do it
In most situations, they'll have to wait 20 minutes

I'm just afraid that an 11 day break after the one call might seem......like too big a break, and if I call afterwards thats just more time loss and things can change for the worse by then.

But I'm not nervous anymore, can't wait to try again tomorrow.

AMAC 08-02-2005 01:18 AM

I remember being really pissed at Jim a few years back in the pit after he openly proclaimed that anyone with STD's deserves it for having sex in the first place.

That was back when Jim and Zakath flamed any poor bastard that had an opposing oppinion of any kind to their own.

Those were good times. :thumb:

Double Bass Jim 08-02-2005 01:21 AM

Haha indeed, I was nuts back then.

Seafroggys 08-02-2005 01:23 AM

Wow that's pretty harsh, Jimmy.

Double Bass Jim 08-02-2005 01:25 AM

I've chilled out alot, i've learned to keep my insane opinions to myself since then. I wasnt too liked in the pit I tell ya that much hahaha

Tim 08-02-2005 01:30 AM

hey jim i know you like wuhan chinas a lot so ill just ask you here instead of starting a whole thread about it....Do the Wuhan chinas project well? i was planning on getting a 16inch. I have an 18inch AA chinese...would that be an ok mix?

Double Bass Jim 08-02-2005 01:33 AM

Yea thatd be a good mix, and they project like no other, there friggin' loud!

AMAC 08-02-2005 01:34 AM

Wuhan Chinas are LOUD.

They project like hell.

If you haven't already played one than I suggest you do before you buy it- Wuhan's make the trashiest and loudest sounding chinas imaginable :P

Double Bass Jim 08-02-2005 01:35 AM

The big ones are so loud man, the 22" can take your head off.

Tim 08-02-2005 01:36 AM

sweet sweet. thanks jim....you too AMAC. havnt tried them but i might as well buy it cuz its a sweet price.

Tim 08-02-2005 01:38 AM
The big ones are so loud man, the 22" can take your head off.
Double Bass Jim 08-02-2005 01:39 AM

You'll like it.

AMAC 08-02-2005 01:41 AM
sweet sweet. thanks jim....you too AMAC. havnt tried them but i might as well buy it cuz its a sweet price.
Speaking of cheap Wuhan prices- I totally reccomend the 10in Wuhan china for 12 bucks.

It's worth it.

Tim 08-02-2005 01:44 AM

yea. i dont have any clamps though and i wouldnt use a stand for something that small. so im gonna get the 16 for sure. total i want 3 chinas. dont know for sure which size i want on the 3rd though.

Seafroggys 08-02-2005 01:59 AM

Meh, methinks Chinas are overrated, I don't plan on getting any for my set.

However, I sure as hell love my Wuhan splash! :thumb:

Tim 08-02-2005 02:02 AM

instead of the 16 i might jsut get the 18 instead

Half Life 08-02-2005 02:07 AM
Meh, methinks Chinas are overrated
^WTF is wrong with you?

Plan B. 08-02-2005 02:12 AM

Yeah I'm going to have to ask the same thing.

Seafroggys 08-02-2005 02:20 AM

I dunno really. I don't want one, or ever plan on having one. It just doesn't fit into the sound I want.

Too me, a china is an effects cymbal. You have one to use it where appropriate. Some people tend to overglorify them and get like 3-4 and use them all the time.

That's other people though, they have a sound they're looking for, I have the sound I'm looking for. IMO crashes, ride, and hats is all you need (and if you want the extra luxury, add a china, splash, etc.)

Ethan. 08-02-2005 09:09 AM

I got the 12" Wuhan china, I love it, but it decays too fast. I think the 16" will be my next china. I want one that sustains a little bit longer, but isn't too loud.
