Night Left Shoe, Hey RTL. I just got back a few minutes ago myself, but we've talked about cars and gas and the metric system and some theories I think, and some math, and some other random stuff. Nothing too important.

Spaceman Spiff 11-17-2004 09:58 PM

so for my canadian law class, we need to read true crime books, which are basically books about true events about criminals.
so the book i chose is The Black Donnellys by Thomas P. Kelley.
this story is entirely factual, the Donnellys were an Irish family who moved to somewhere around London, Ontario, in the mid 1800s. a man, his wife, their 7 sons and 1 daughter, were pretty crazy, except the daughter. one day the father got in a fight with another man and killed him by smashing a pole over his head. he then evaded the authorites by hiding in a forest for a year until he gave himself up. he went to prison for 7 years. during this time his children were growing up and were terrorizing the town, burning down barns, killing animals that belonged to other people, also stealing cows and such.
i haven't finished the book yet, but the story of the Black Donnellys (the term 'black' came from someone saying that the children are "as black in sin as their father") comes to end when on february 4, 1880, the family was slaughtered in their sleep.
so far it's a really good book, i'd reccommend it.

My dad is really weird ... he mixed mandarin oranges and cottage cheese and gave it to me, which was normal kinda, and good.

Then he was like "try this[/], you haven't lived until you have..." and whips out the peanut butter. Mixed that with oranges (not with cottage cheese luckily...), and gives it to me.

I eat ... kinda weird, and ask him "have you done this before, or did you just make it up?"

He hesitates "...never done it before..."

*dad tries it*

"...Hmmm ... kinda weird, but now I have lived!"

 My dad is so silly.

i'm in grade 11, actually.
and the book is only 160 pages. that's not why i chose it to read though, i like reading, it's just that i already knew a bit about the Black Donnellys and wanted to learn more.
and it isn't too difficult either, you should read it if you like the sounds of it.

That reminds me of when my older brother tricked me into eating... *takes deep breath* peanut butter, mustard, chocolate syrup, mayo, salt, pepper, turkey, ham, and one raw egg on rye.

I didn't get past the first bite without retching.

That was two weeks ago.

(just kidding. I was like 6 at the time. ;))

ridethelightning 11-17-2004 10:26 PM

k ill check that book out when our next novel study comes up

ridethelightning 11-17-2004 10:29 PM

Yeah ... here's another example of his weirdness from earlier tonight:

We are sitting there, looking for cars for me in the paper. We find one and my dad goes to call the number in the ad...

*dad picks up phone*

*dials*

*pause*

"hello, yes ... I am a monkey"

*I look at him weird*

"...oh, it's still ringing ..."

Heh, reminds me of a game me and my friends play, called "mixtures." We just find the most random food and but it in a cup/bowl/jar and make my friend eat it. Once, it was so bad that one of my friends actually threw up from just smelling it.

i used to do that, haven't done it in a while, here's one really bad one (if i remember everything):
ketchup
mustard
salt
pepper
mayonnaise
coke
diet coke
milk
water
sugar
some sort of juice
vinegar

there might have been more stuff in there, not sure though. it was disgusting.

I know .. there was another really weird thing he did recently that I was trying to think of. Here's another one from tonight:

We are at a (closed) used car dealership walking around, looking at prices and stuff. A dog is across the street, and barks at us.

*dad whistles*

"come here, over here boy!"

*I get nervous*

"dad, you don't do that to strange dogs..."

Dad: "Oh, I just wanted him to come over here so I can fart on him"
