it's awesome when you see your band in the myspace music list of a person you don't even know.

asdf 08-29-2006 08:57 PM

So right now my mom is upstairs ranting about how she's not allowed to say Jimmy Buffett sucks around certain people.
it's awesome when you see your band in the myspace music list of a person you don't even know.
that happened to me twice, but both the girls who put my old band in their music lists also listened to like Coldplay, Copeland, Panic! at the Disco, and stuff like that :(.

the cool thing is, though, i keep looking at my friend's Lastfm and our band keeps showing up high on his list.

Zappa 08-30-2006 01:59 AM

I googled myself today and found live performance pictures I'd never seen. They were taken by a girl I know, but still.

Public transport sucks.

Some idiot decided to chuck himself in front on an oncoming train so my train was terminated about 4 stops from my station.
I was two hours late getting to work not to mention being crushed like a sardine on my train going home with some baby screaming about 10cm away from my ear the whole journey (40 mins). Man I seriously wanted to beat that kid.

I wouldn't mind but transport prices are extortionate, they could at least stick more carriages on the trains at peak times.

/rant over.

nutty_bar 08-30-2006 06:44 PM

You ride a train to work? Where do you live? The only time I have ever been on a train was some field trip when I was little.

Luxor 08-30-2006 07:27 PM

Commuting by train really isn't that bad. A lot of times it's faster than taking a car, buses are what suck. It used to take me an hour to get to school taking the bus. Now that I have a car I can get there in 12 minutes.

nutty_bar 08-30-2006 08:11 PM

I hate buses too. When I went to L.A. they had the redline which is basically like the subway. It was pretty cool. That trip to L.A./Hollywood was the best. They have so many escalators around there. I love escalators.

since when do people ride trains short distances?

Zmev 08-30-2006 08:15 PM

I ride it to San Francisco sometimes

sr800bkBassist 08-30-2006 08:19 PM
I ride it to San Francisco sometimes
where do you start from?

i'm talking about like going to work and stuff. i've never heard of anyone needing to get on a train to go to their job. teen or adult.

YDload 08-30-2006 08:24 PM

People in the UK ride trains everywhere.

you learn alot about other countries from forums :)

sr800bkBassist 08-30-2006 08:25 PM

pssh i've been here since 02. never heard it mentioned. fool.

Little Man being Erased 08-30-2006 08:26 PM

In our capital cities trains are probably the major form of public transport.

br3ad_man 08-30-2006 08:29 PM

Trains are good, buses suck.

Eliminator 08-30-2006 08:32 PM

What br3ad said.

HELLO ALT/INDIE

nutty_bar 08-30-2006 08:35 PM

"Couldn't connect to the internet to varify user details"

Everytime I try to download last.fm something goes wrong. From what I see/hear it is an awesome site but for some reason it never feels like working for me.

Dog 08-30-2006 08:37 PM

i wish my city had better public transportation. if we had a train or subway system i would never drive anywhere. instead we just have buses that smell like burritos and piss.

Dog 08-30-2006 08:42 PM

this is the first i've been on the forums today, though.

Little Man being Erased 08-30-2006 08:48 PM

Well, that is weird.

I just try to keep a thread unread the whole time.

Zappa 08-30-2006 08:49 PM

When you live in the suburbs, and you work in a big city. I live a 40 minute drive from Toronto. A lot of people take the "GO-Train". Takes you right into the big city, with no stop-and-go traffic garbage on the highway.

So the greatest thing ever just happened to me!

Basically I was one A-level grade short of getting into my first choice university, so the plan was take up my insurance choice. However after a **** up in the system I was told 2 weeks later that my first choice hadn;t yet rejected me from their systems, so I had to phone up to tell them.

After getting off the phone they phoned me back 5 minutes later, saying that some girl had dropped out, and I had been given a place at cardiff university! so basically because I was still on the system at Cardiff (due to their ****-up) I was able to take up the place at Cardiff.

This was like my dream university, so I'm so happy right now.
