Did anyone else hear about Neil Young's brain aneurysm:(?
.

Incidentally, is Elvis Costello ever discussed in here?
Costello frickin' rules. I have an old mixtape of his stuff tht my parents made a long time ago, and it's awesome. "Watching The Detectives" is a great song.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 04-02-2005 08:09 PM

Meh.....their OK.

Spectrum 04-02-2005 08:09 PM

Wow... poor Neil Young. At least he's feeling better now, he's got his sense of humor still on him. So, yeah.

Spectrum 04-02-2005 08:09 PM

I loved Tom Petty when I was younger. He's alright.

anarchist88 04-02-2005 08:11 PM

No one's said Ten Years After... their kinda blues/rock, but they were at Woodstock, so they count by me.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 04-02-2005 08:15 PM

Yes and I love that footage but that's all I know and heard about them.

We've mentioned ten years after. Come on man, it's an over 1000 page thread.

Really? Because I've been here since 2000 posts and I've never seen any talk of them. Come to think though.....I seriously dought that he's read every page.

anarchist88 04-02-2005 08:23 PM

Haha yeah...but I can't read so much without dying. And in a few years, U2 should be talked about cause they r amazing as hell.

And what about John McLaughlin and Al Dimeola in Mahavishnu Orchestra. Both men r geniuses and pioneered fusion.

Beleive me, I can recall them being talked about, I've been here since the beggining. mind you after a certain point I gave up reading every page I of discussion I missed. But regardless I remember them being mentioned.

P.s Have you really been here since 2 thousand posts? I could've sworn it was more like 20 thousand.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 04-02-2005 08:39 PM

I beleive you and yes Im positive that it was around 2000.

Edit: I first came here around 2000 but I was abit quiet for awhile.

jpj 04-02-2005 09:04 PM

Ten Years After has definitely been mentioned at some point but not talked about extensively.

And Mahavisnhu Orchestra is amazing.

Mahavishnu Orchestra is great. The electic voilin adds to the band so much, and its rarly seen.

Badmoon 04-02-2005 09:37 PM

They get old pretty **** fast, IMO.

--------------------------------
Grateful Dead - Catfish John
Jimmy Cliff - I can See Clearly Now
Don Mclean - Vincent
The Clash - Rudie Can't Fail

EDIT: Can't post the Jimmy Cliff song, sorry :(

RobNY 04-02-2005 09:56 PM

Vincent is amazing. Simply amazing. The lyrics are so lovely. They weren't listening then... perhaps they never will...

Ah, I love that song.

Walrus Gumboot 04-02-2005 10:03 PM

Yes I too wish you a happy birthday :)

And what studio album of the Dead is Casey Jones on? I have many versions of it live, but meh I'm thinking of starting a Dead collection since I own so many live albums already so I might as well buy up the studio albums.

Badmoon 04-02-2005 10:23 PM

Workingman's Dead

Actually what are some Dead albums you guys think I should defenetly have in my collection. I know my collection should have all of the studio and Dicks Picks, but what else should I have in there?

American B. There are soooo many Dick Picks albums and some of them are extremly hard to come by.
American B. There are soooo many Dick Picks albums and some of them are extremly hard to come by.
Yea I know this isn't going to be an easy project and I'll probally still be collecting for many years. I do plan on getting all the Dick Picks though, no matter how long it takes me. I have a feeling there will always be fresh Dead albums out there for me. Between the studio, Dick Picks, all the other live albums, box sets, and bootlegs, I'll be buying for many years.

I guess its really me just making up for never being able to follow them around on tour, whitch I would have loved to do.

lunch998 04-02-2005 10:42 PM

Closing of Winterland, Live Dead, Skull and Roses, Live at the Fillmore East, etc....

Badmoon 04-02-2005 10:44 PM

Well, if you already realize that you should have most the studio albums and the Dick's Picks then...

s/t (Skull & Roses)
Live/Dead
Europe '72
Steppin' Out: England '72
History of the Grateful Dead: Vol. 1
Infarred Roses (Though bad)
Dylan and The Dead (Though terrible)

pigonthewing82 04-02-2005 10:47 PM
Dylan and The Dead (Though terrible)
Huh I would have thought that would have been a good combination.
