I got an E, which was fine by me.

Hey, I'm doing that at uni y'know!
Hey, I'm doing that at uni y'know!
Fair enough.

I like some aspects of Physics, but the AS course I did put me off wanting to go anywhere near the subject ever again.

Yeah, it put me off aswell, but I marched on.

It got interesting as soon as we started Fields and then did some Quantum in A2.

Uni sounds great, is it good?

ashman 11-16-2005 02:25 PM
Uni sounds great, is it good?
Depends, I don't like it personally. I've heard it's good if you stay at the halls of residence, but since I live in a flat, I don't really assiociate much with the other students.

Brew 11-16-2005 02:30 PM

Uni sounds expensive.

I was having a fun arguement with a friend yesterday about how I'm going to end up being a bum with spinning colour wheels if I get a Masters Degree in Fine Art, and how he'll end up being a nerd with lots of useless robots if he gets a Masters Degree in Robotics.

ashman 11-16-2005 02:57 PM

It is really expensive, especially when you're paying £50 for textbooks and uni is grabbing money at every opportunity.

That sounds pretty sucky.

What are you studying again?

Physics with Astrophysics...

IAJP 11-16-2005 03:14 PM

Cool, what do you want to do in the future?
I mean, a degree in Physics of any sort is highly commendable isn't it?
Cool, what do you want to do in the future?

Yeah apparently, at the moment I'm at a crossroads in my life, I've got 3 directions to go; 1) Stay at uni, get degree and become a theorthetical physicist at CERN, 2) Go into band promotion, since I promote my own rock night and I enjoy it or 3) Quit uni, get a job to tide me over until I'm 21 so then I can apply for my Bar License and then open a Bar in Leeds or Sheffield with a friend.

Spectrum 11-16-2005 03:30 PM

Wow, I just finished the single player demo of that F.E.A.R. game, and I can find no better way to describe what I'm feeling than with a good old fashioned HOLY SHIT. That game seriously f***s with your mind, especially the parts where you suddenly can't control the course of events. There was one specific hallway that really messed me up. I'm freaked out.

ashman 11-16-2005 03:43 PM

I've heard that games good, if I had the pennies I'd go and buy it.

IAJP 11-16-2005 03:55 PM

That was a weird crash

Spectrum 11-16-2005 03:59 PM
That was a weird crash
Huh what? Explain.

And ashman, anyone that's ever mentioned F.E.A.R. so far has said that it's excellent.

I might get FEAR in the January sales :p

Also, I'm thinking of what to choose at AS Level...

Methinks so far (order of preference):

Psychology,
Biology,
Sociology,
Chemistry,

AND, the extra "maybes" are:

Government and Politics,
English Literature.

A career at Cern is guaranteed be to a fulfilling one. Plus, you can live in Der Schweiz.

PHysics with astrohpysics sounds great. I'm gonna aply for "Physics with maths" at Cambridge enxt year, and probably maths or physics at York.

The others i dunno.

I prefer F#A#Oo, bit it's still an entirely humbling album.

Spectrum 11-16-2005 04:38 PM

Yeah, one of the reasons I hate my own songwriting is because I listen to such incredible music. I'm a big Prog-whore, and I just found out that Instrumental Post-Rock is one of the best things that ever happened to me, and the music I choose to listen to is plain out excellent.

NP: Explosions in the Sky - Greet Death

See? Too good for my own good.

I love this cold weather, my blood heats me up better than most, and its easier to get warm than cool down.

Jev 11-17-2005 06:18 AM

Uhh, is it possible to catch an illness through the internet?
Thanks a lot Brum.
I have to give my 6th form application back tomorrow and I fookin hope I don't forget it.
Yeah. It's good stuff.

Sounds like fun.
Every Thursday afternoon I'm sat trying to draw and failing miserably.

theredwonder 11-17-2005 08:45 AM

But you get to post on Mx too, right?

Jev 11-17-2005 10:28 AM

Indeed.
Where is everyone?

theredwonder 11-17-2005 10:32 AM

About to leave.

I thought this would be Mx Uk primetime though, perhaps people are dining.

ashman 11-17-2005 10:33 AM

Egads...I just looked in my wallet, I have 60p until 4am on Sunday morning and I've got about 4 essays that have to be in tomorrow.

I got my 21st Black Sabbath album today :)

And to all who complain about the cold - it was -1 when I did my paper round this morning, and it was great. The sunrise was beautiful.
Egads...I just looked in my wallet, I have 60p until 4am on Sunday morning and I've got about 4 essays that have to be in tomorrow.
Are those two things relevant to one another?

ashman 11-17-2005 10:44 AM
Are those two things relevant to one another?
Possible, let us analyse:

If I didn't go out, I would have had some money also I would have had time to do the essays if I didn't go out, thus if I was in any way shape or form responsible, I'd have money and no essays to do...:sigh:
