ive only heard empiricism which i didnt like, but im not a big fan of the type of music anyway. off the top of my head, check out enslaved or windir for something similar, or perhaps wait for someone who actually listens to them.

I'm not a big fan of Black Metal, but The Nightside Eclipse was okay... I don't think I'll actually listen to Black Metal consistently though.

Don't know Borknagar, but a member of this band have a side project named Vintersorg. It's a kind of prog black metal.

Well, it's more symphonic black.
If you must hear at least one black metal album, it's "Under the Sign of the Black Mark" by Bathory. One of the first "true" black metal album and one of the best (but I must warn you : that's a dirty album). :thumb:

I tried this as Nightside Eclipse the only black metal album I really like.

I have Renascent Misanthropy. From what I remember it was ok, but nothing that really grabbed me. It's been a while since I listened to it, though.

That's the one I just bought, I'm going to listen to it in a while. I have high hopes since I really like a lot of Australian BM.
