So i'm not going to read 1090+ pages of metalcore thread, but I was wondering if anyone is a fan of Misery Signals.

Controller is my favorite album of 2008.

Mis Sigs are amazing. Controller is a good album but compared to the previous 2 albums and EP it's slightly disappointing I feel.

In fact ama listen to their ep right now.

(Still think if you haven't already justin you should give their EP a listen justin. Sounds like an improved 7A7P mate)

Mappy said that to me before and I just don't hear it. Maybe it sounds a tad similar but certainly not [I]improved[/I].

They certainly managed to incorporate their breakdowns into songs better (if he also said this then I ****ing give up)

I dunno, I love Mirrors and Of Malice as much as the next guy, but there's something about Controller that draws me to it.

I think its the extremely clear production, Misery Signals are a great band that deserve amazing production and I think Devin has done an outstanding job with Schubachs vocals.

And finally a metalcore release where you can actually audibly hear the bass. I mean ok I am exaggerating a bit but the production sounds like every member has their own little "space" which makes it all the more appealing to me. Too many bands either gimp their bassists or the production focuses too much on guitar. Look at Born of Osiris's newest release for an example.

I'd give anything for a rerecorded Mirrors. Anchor and The Failsafe are awesome songs. Of Malice stands pretty strong on its own though.

I will, I just remember being incredibly bored when listening to em but that was a year or so ago.

Karl's vocals aren't as good as they were on Mirrors. His hardcore vocals that he did on Mirros fitted perfectly well with the style Mis Sigs play. The constant low vocals got on my nerves a little bit after repeated listens.

And the other is that the first half of the album is simply considerably poorer than the 2nd half really. When I listen to Controller now I always start listening at A Certain Death.

Oh and barring the ep 7A7P > Misery Signals.

I love Karls vocals on Controller, I feel thats one of its strong points actually. I can hear every lyric uttered and its great, rarely can I hear a metal band actually sing their lyrics in a way where i can actually make it out.

And I don't know, mostly every song is has its place for me. The album feels very tight and short, just the way i like it. (insert sexual innuendo here)

I'm sorry but your an idiot. Seriously everybody was telling me how amazing 7A7P was, so I checked out JL... it was so boring. Same thing with Misery Signals but at a heightened level. Why don't you listen to music that actually does something interesting, like Skycamefalling.

IDK man, I love the extremely melodic guitarwork those bands have, but Taken does it better tbh. Between Two Unseens is by far the best metalcore release of that variety.

And nah dude, Misery Signals are pretty damn overrated. 7A7P has beautiful guitarwork, I just wish they had better drumming and vocals. :/
