Will this work? I plan on calling a few days before and just asking if I could go, as I'm a local and will be no trouble at all. I mean, this venue used to let me and my friends come in and play pool when I was about 8 years old.
ok have you ever considered that you might be TOO cool for this club then

asdf 05-02-2009 07:12 PM

Yes.

What I mean is, someone who works there probably knows me of someone in my family, so hopefully it wont be a big deal.

nedchambers 05-03-2009 04:58 AM

when i saw dan deacon last year he packed everyone like sardines into this tiny little club held a danceoff. which was awesome, until someone got his pee-pee out.

i'm going to an all-night festival tonight with an awesome lineup. thing that sucks is, from 1-3am Samiyam and then Flying Lotus will be on in one room and Ghostface will be on from 1-2 in another. do i just see samiyam and flylo or do i do what i was thinking of doing and see ghostface then head over for most of flylo's set?

pixiesfanyo 05-03-2009 12:41 PM

see FlyLo. Ghost is good but not great.

ATM 05-03-2009 02:07 PM

Ghost is pretty boring live.

nedchambers 05-04-2009 06:42 AM

yeah went to see samiyam who was good, and flylo was great but not quite as good as at lightbox. gaslamp killer was surprisingly fun too. apparently ghost didn't even show up, so just as well i didn't bother i guess

sgrevs 05-04-2009 07:49 AM

Ghostface is coming to Aus in June, I love his stuff but is it worth $55? (about $40 US)

Bear in mind we don't get much good international hip-hop coming through, and I read somewhere that Raekwon may be joining but that was probably bs.

I'd jump on that shiz if that was me, thats mega cheap compared to how much we have to pay for gigs like that in the UK.

ATM 05-04-2009 09:20 AM

Hmm, I saw him at my school and it wasn't that great. Keep in mind it was on a Sunday night and my school doesn't serve alcohol, so the crowd was really dead. If you don't get many international hip hop acts coming through, the crowd would probably be a LOT more receptive.

Ghost said after the show that the crowd at my school was the worst he's ever seen.

Lol

Liebensaft 05-04-2009 05:34 PM

Jay-Z just played at my school. It was actually pretty cool. Except for the fact that I had to wait through Third Eye Blind and Kelly Clarkson (btw-she's fat now).

YDload 05-04-2009 06:21 PM

thats a strange concert. i wonder if they had anything to talk about when they were backstage together, or if there was just a lot of awkward silence

Glitterati 05-04-2009 07:22 PM

I'm crazy as a loon. I realized that today.

YourBiggestFan 05-04-2009 07:30 PM

probably. I mean, you do have girl talk as your avatar. You've gotta be one zany dude.

Glitterati 05-04-2009 07:34 PM

Haha, that's pretty funny. I think I will end up going, I have a friend who wants to go so at least I won't be on my own.

Wanker 05-04-2009 09:18 PM

So I'm going to an Animal Collective show on May 14th in Boston but I don't know if I should still go with my ex-girlfriend who got me the tickets. I asked other people and they're all busy.

iarescientists 05-04-2009 10:18 PM

i'm going to the dan deacon show the day before that with a friend, and we're considering staying overnight to go to that, only problem is we don't have tickets for the ac show or a place to stay

I could've seen Ghostface at my old college for $3. I didn't go though. The most expensive tickets were $10. And this was only a few weeks ago.

don't go with an ex-girlfriend unless you want to get back together with her. I know from personal experience.

I'm not going with her anymore. I asked this other girl to go with me. But then my ex got pissed when she found out I was using the tickets to go with another girl and then she took them back (because they're e-tickets and she has the .pdf file) so I mailed the printed tickets back to her and just bought more tickets online.

I don't need her charity if she's going to be jealous that I can find a girl who wants to go with me. I don't care. It's Animal Collective.

There are still tickets available. Just buy them online or something.

YourBiggestFan 05-05-2009 01:25 PM

how much did you end up paying for AC tickets? I know their show in austin sold out like, a few months ago and it isn't until June.

Wanker 05-05-2009 01:49 PM

20 bucks, but theres a 7 dollar fee for ticketmaster. its weird though because i thought it would be sold out too but hey it let me buy the tickets so i assume that they arent sold out.

sweboy 05-05-2009 03:06 PM

anyone seen marissa nadler live?

(*The Noonward Race*) 05-05-2009 04:21 PM

nah no one came to any of the shows

Yeah, it was mostly comical until Jay-Z got on. Then it was thuggish and hip-hoppin'. Kelly Clarkson got fat and Third Eye Blind are still not cool. ASUA, the student government that set up the show, lost almost a million dollars on it because of poor turnout. They held it on a Wednesday night with a terrible line-up. Their bad. They did this same retarded thing a couple years ago with Kanye West before I was a student here.

pixiesfanyo 05-05-2009 06:21 PM

Third Eye Blind rules. **** you.

Liebensaft 05-05-2009 07:19 PM

hahahahaha alright. They wear all black and paint their fingernails btw.

YourBiggestFan 05-05-2009 08:25 PM

holy crap. that is super lame.

if they wore like, 90's sh i t and just embraced it, they'd do so much better. They'd feel better.
