Arthur Russell - First Thought Best Thought
Hadn't heard this one before, more of a display of his classical background, almost no suggestion of his dance stuff. It's kinda neat, though. All instrumentals. Some of the stuff on the first disc is kind of like Velvet Underground for a nine-piece band, others have a more pop-jazz kinda thing going on. And then there's some ambient, a cello suite and a 9-minute track of weird electronic noodling. Fun fun. |
