I'm probably seeing them next week. I've not heard that album yet, but Shivering King and Others is great.

Comets on Fire - Avatar
Captain Beefheart & his Magic Band - Doc at the Radar Station
Dead Meadow pretty much ditched the stoner on Feathers. Just so you know. I personally like it the most out of all their releases.

Tangy zizzle 08-08-2007 09:35 PM

Spoon

God how I love this band.

Jacaranda 08-08-2007 09:38 PM

New Pornographers - Challengers

I suck at listening to music recently.

Anxious 08-08-2007 09:41 PM

I saw Spoon on Austin City Limits and thought they were crap.

Drive Like Jehu- Yank Crime
Kraftwerk-Trans-Europe Express

Would like an award? A clap or somethin'?

They're still mean.

They just played live on some show and my impression was that they were generic.

Jacaranda 08-08-2007 10:22 PM

they are

pixiesfanyo 08-08-2007 10:35 PM

Gregor Samsa - 27:36

Happymeal 08-08-2007 11:04 PM

Spoon are great. They're terrific songwriters who play uncomplicated music without sounding all wussy-like and their new album is one of their best.

Robert Crumb 08-08-2007 11:39 PM

Nothing wrong with Spoon.

Various Artists - Cult Cargo: Grand Bahama Goombay

sexymuffin 08-08-2007 11:40 PM

i seriously think flying lotus is what trip hop should be in 20 years

it's so advanced

br3ad_man 08-09-2007 12:57 AM

Spoon are ok with me.

Tangy zizzle 08-09-2007 01:46 AM

Brilliant is what they are. Weird-pop perfection.

metalicajaymz 08-09-2007 01:47 AM

Spoon is so weak live but I like Girls Can Tell a lot.

anyway right now I am wondering how I ever hated Wowee Zowee.

I back this statement 100%

um, The Cure.

br3ad_man 08-09-2007 03:21 AM

Man that last encore was incredible.

Digging The Mint Chicks for most of the day.

Tangy zizzle 08-09-2007 03:37 AM

How was the fat old clown live?

I'm seein the Minties (for free, go new zealand!) next week.

Little Man being Erased 08-09-2007 03:52 AM

Yeah the last encore was superb. There was a bit too much newer material throughout the set though, which stopped it from being an amazing performance.

oh yeah, and I'm seeing the Minties with I Heart Hiroshima for free on Tuesday. It pays to know people in the biz.

br3ad_man 08-09-2007 05:33 AM

Seeing them for free too tbh.

Kyle 08-09-2007 08:39 AM

Glad you guys enjoyed The Cure. Did they play much off Head on the Door?

Digging all things Bowie.

Jawaharal 08-09-2007 10:00 AM

First time listening to White Pony today. its dank ****

Boilermaker 08-09-2007 12:09 PM

Common - Finding Forever
Public Enemy - Fear of a Black Planet

New Common album is the bomb-diggity. Didn't like Be as much, but the new one is pretty awesome.

Eliminator 08-09-2007 12:23 PM

new common album sucks

mozartv 08-09-2007 12:26 PM
new common album sucks
actually, its pretty good from what i've heard off of it.

various stuff from this band called Marmoset. Anyone else heard of them?

Zebra 08-09-2007 02:53 PM

Public Enemy - It Takes a Nation of Millions...

This album gives me the desire to shoot Flava Flav.

Eliminator 08-09-2007 02:56 PM

everything he does gives me that desire

pixiesfanyo 08-09-2007 03:17 PM
Dead Meadow pretty much ditched the stoner on Feathers. Just so you know. I personally like it the most out of all their releases.
It's good but I think Shivering King is my favourite.

Brother JT - Spirituals

Hmm this annoying. Catchy. But annoying. It has some really cool parts though. Makes me wonder what his not almost entirely acoustic albums sound like. I'm pretty sure he was on Siltbreeze before which makes him cool.

The Jungler 08-09-2007 08:57 PM

Sonic Youth - Goo
Sonic Youth - Murray Street
MF DOOM - MM..FOOD

hard to believe those two SY albums are from the same band. I think I probably like Goo better, though if you asked me a month ago I would have responded completely different.

Eliminator 08-09-2007 09:14 PM

its not hard to believe at all

Thanks 08-09-2007 09:20 PM

Finally re-ripped (not sure how it got deleted) this 4-cd set of very old recordings of all of Debussy's piano pieces, played by Walter Gieseking. Digging that again.

Anxious 08-09-2007 11:03 PM

King Crimson- Red

11/10

YDload 08-09-2007 11:07 PM

American Football- s/t

its okay, i might need some more time with it.

perriwinkle 08-09-2007 11:33 PM

i think its great. if you end up liking it check out the EP too

p.s. i have also been digging my new song.

arizona http://myspace.com/nickingvoldstad

the end is funny. my friend calls and invites me to his house and im like alright i'm working on a song but its pretty much done, i'll finish it burn it to a cd and come over and he's like alright how long is it gonna be and i said 10 mins, but i ended up working on it for another 45 mins. and while i'm recording the last part, a vocal track at the end, he calls, i finish the part and pick up the phone. since it was recording i put it on speakerphone and up to the mic and ****ed with him as much as possible. so then i rendered that, burnt it and left and i left the song at that for like a week, but i just changed a few things and ****ed with the phone conversation in a pretty cool way (to me)

also

Sunset Rubdown - Daytrotter EP is so goooooooooood

Thanks 08-10-2007 12:25 AM

Nick Lowe consistently wrote good hooks on Jesus of Cool, but I dont know if I'm hearing enough edginess and pure invention on here for it to hold up.

Zmev 08-10-2007 12:26 AM

Nitin Sawhney - Beyond Skin
Pinback - Summer in Abbadon

metalicajaymz 08-10-2007 12:39 AM

Misfits - Earth A.D.
Pavement - Wowee Zowee

YourBiggestFan 08-10-2007 12:47 AM

I picked up that Pavement book for like 16 dollars the other day. . . it was worth it, although it seems like a few of the items in the reissues were taken from here. or, you know, it could be one of those crazy coincidende things.

Anyway, Texas Never Whispers is an amazing song.
