It wouldn't be 21 if retards didn't insist on driving while they were drunk off their rocker.
I think the reason why alcohol seems to be such a wanted treasure by people-under-18 is because it's 21. I think if it was lowered to 18, it would seem like college kids could buy all they want, but it would fall into the background within months. |
Sometimes thats what I think would happen is marijuana was legal.
|
In Britain Drink is a bigger problem than weed. FAR bigger problem.
|
Drugs and alcohol are far too easy to obtain, even though it is illegal. It's almost as if the government wants us to go out and get smashed, or whatever. :p
|
It's easier for me to get weed than alcohol. I could go buy some right now from any number of people.
|
I could probably go buy some from any number of my co-workers. One guy that I work with shows up every day in the same cap with a weed leaf on it. He was telling me about how he got pulled over for driving with expired tags, and he had that hat on, so they did a search of his car. Apparently he was clean, or just very good at hiding his stash.
|
So...the little kid that went missing in my town turned up murdered.
His body was found under an old tent right where I used to walk to school everyday. So now there's a homicidal maniac loose in my town. :-/ |
These two local kids were hit and killed by a drunk woman a couple nights ago. I didn't know either of them, but they had a huge wake and funeral.
|
In New York they're thinking about making it compulsory putting in a mechanism in cars that is like a personal breathalyzer. Every 30-45 minutes, you would have to blow into this breathalyzer, and if you fail, the car completely stops. If you don't blow into it, the car completely stops.
|
Thats so stupid. |

That's a good idea in theory, but it would fail miserably in practice. Imagine driving down the highway (where you'd probably be most likely to forget to take the test) and having your car completely stop. Not to mention that taking this test would be a huge distraction for the driver. |
Why is that stupid? Do you realize how many people it would save in the long run? We're talking thousands of lives here. I don't think you'd have to take it so frequently, though. I mean, how many people would deliberately take beer with them for the sole purpose of drinking and driving? I just can't picture it. "Ok, I just took my breathalizer test, now hand me my Crown Royal!"
No moron is dumb enough to drink and drive for fun. |
Lol, thats true. I don't think its such a major problem in England, more people get stabbed.
|
They could just make it so you have to pass the test to turn the vehicle on, and I'd be satisfied.
Lol, thats true. I don't think its such a major problem in England, more people get stabbed.
That's why firearms should be legal over there. At least when somebody's shot, you can trace the bullet back to the registered owner, as opposed to the very little evidence (ideally) left behind when somebody is stabbed. |
I don't see what's so great about drinking.
Edit: Halfdeadhippo, what is your avatar? I think it's from Diablo II but I'm not positive. |

A good theory that needs better execution for it to really be effective. |

That's sort of what it is here. Let's say somebody is robbing your house. If they fall on the stairs and break a leg, they can sue you. And I think if you attack them while they're robbing you, they could sue you. |
Yeah, my aunt's friend got sued once because a robber cut himself on a knife, and he sued her for it.

Wow, I have a lot of catching up to do, unfortunately I missed the linguistic discussion, I know a lot about the relations and the origin of languages.
Jelle is a Frisian name, by the way. Al: Exam, meh, not too good, naturally Joe: According to the computer it's 116 Gigs. Metal guitar: I thought you were half Belgian, not half Dutch |

From what I can tell, nine out of every ten people aged 16 through 19 in this country aren't mature enough for alcohol. Just my opinion.
Let's say somebody is robbing your house. When it's completed, I'll post pictures, perhaps. |

I agree wholeheartedly. What is illicit often holds the most attraction. |

That's one of the things that bothers me about drugs. When Ralph Nader was running for Pres. here in the US everyone thought he was cool because he wanted to legalize marijuana. MAny people think Bob MArley is cool because he used ganja as well. I have to constantly remind them that it was his religion. |

The whole marijuana culture is actually driving me away from it. |
People are idiots, plain and simple. The industry would shrink in size by 50 percent if they legalized marijuana, because strict official guidelines would be implemented with regard to public use and the illicit attraction of it would be gone, and so therefore most of the thrill and fun of using it, I suspect, would disappear across the board with regard to the predominantly suburban white kids that use it.
People that use drugs illegally tend to be dumbasses about it because, whether they think it consciously or not, the majority is doing it simply to be cool, or because they are severely lacking in real, constructive things to do with their time. The reason I don't do drugs or drink is because a.) I have much better things to do with my time, like developing a talent so I don't have to work as a store clerk until I'm 30, and b.) I have good social skills and therefore don't need to get wasted off my *** or "high" to have sex with someone, sound intelligent or deep, express my feelings, meet people, make friends, and have a good time with the friends I've got. Granted, not everyone that smokes or drinks has to do it to accomplish those things either, but even so, a great many people in my experience do so for exactly those reasons. |

About industry: Hemp is an exremely useful tool that can be made into ropes etc. I beleive even into fuel. |
If I had a dollar for every time I heard a "Dude, I was so wasted on Friday!" or "Dude, you have no idea how stoned I was yesterday!" story I'd be a millionaire. Frankly I'm just getting tired of the subculture marijuana breeds and frankly I'm tired of most of the people that use it because most of them are slack-jawed idiots. So I'm thinking of quitting it, or at least doing it very very rarely.
I will still continue to do shrooms, because that's a fun experience, and I will continue to drink, because I like the taste of mose booze (I know, I'm a freak), but pot is on the outs with me. And I can't say alcohol hasn't done anything good for me because the only reason I was able to approach my current girlfriend was because I was drunk. |
Cain, remember that one song I YSI'd called "Road Trip" that you said was the worst thing you've heard since Scott Stapp sung the Star Spangled Banner?
Well it seems they formed a new band called the Graduates. Kurtz might have heard of them, but they're big in Los Al. And they suck. Nobody is a musician in my town, and they think they're the best band in the world. http://www.purevolume.com/thegraduatesca There's their purevolume if you want to listen. I listened to their cover of Dammit, and I had to close it because it was so horrible. The drums over power everything, they obviously have no idea how to record. |
morally I would have no qualms about attempting to kill someone robbing my house

Here's how I would do it. /me hears robber /me says loudly "Oh crap! Hopefully he won't find the safe that's upstairs that has millions of dollars worth of jewels!" /me sees robber dash up stairs /me pushes robber over railing onto main floor, hopefully breaking his neck  |

hi all. how's everyone? personally, i haven't done weed for over 18months and i'm never doing it again, because: a) drinking is more fun. b) last time i got high i was on a down for 3 days. c) its pointless, a waste of money the job i want to go into drug test you.

Hah..the previous two years I went I only saw about 10-15 bands in total - the most noteable of which were The Wildhearts - I spent the rest of the in various states of drunkness and being extremely Scottish  |
So I raided my stepdad's collection for these:
Chick Corea - Now He Sings, Now He Sobs Herbie Hancock - Head Hunters Larry Young - Unity John Patton - Blue John Charles Mingus - Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus Miles Davis - In a Silent Way Billy Cobham - Spectrum Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington - the Complete Sessions Jazz++ |
